I have crocheted six of MJs sweaters in the last 3 years but this is my first kit and first time using MJs yarn. Mary Maxim makes the process very easy by offering kits - they arrive in a clear reusable zipper bag with heavy printed patterns making it easy to start crocheting.
The only thing I have to say is greatness. I got 3 boxes of the same yarn, but a little bit of a difference in each one. If you buy more than 2 maybe make the boyarn different. I love them really addicting.
I saw this is beautiful. As soon as I finished with my current project Iโm going to start this!

SUCH a fun pattern! Easy enough to put together. I like to mark out the pattern with sharpie, go over that with clear nail polish and leave to dry. All comes together and itโs so fun. Highly recommend.
Very difficult to know what colors to use when reading the graph. Numbers or letters would be better. Worse, there wasn't nearly enough of the red yarn which is a predominant color on the dish. It is a nice project but definitely not for a beginner.

Your projects are always of best quality and they always turn out beautiful. I enjoy being able to get patterns some of which I had many years ago.
The dish is bigger than expected! Was able to fit a good amount of goodies in it to give as Christmas gifts last year and as a table center piece. It was such a hit with those that received it that Iโm making a few more for this year!

I am working on this project now. I love the idea and it is coming together nicely. However, due to a problem with my "color" vision, I had trouble figuring out what colors to use and where. Thanks to family, I was able to get the project started. I would really prefer the symbols for the colors.

Instructions difficult. Colors on instructions did not match colors in the pictures. Please count the squares instead of bars and actually mark the count on the chart. I do this all the time and find your instructions skimpy

I liked the idea of the Tree Candy dish. There is not enough yarn in the kit. The yarn is the stiffest, and cheapest one. It splits while you working with it. The plastic was terrible. That too broke while I was doing it. Cheap plastic. I have no problem with other kits. Please improve the material on this one. Makes it very hard to work with.
