Delightful and easy project

Delightful and easy project., It does use Reverse SC for a border finish, a stitch that can challenge beginners, not to mention "oldies" like me. I found reducing tension just a bit make a pretty border with even stitches.
The directions are very good and there are detailed directions for the Reverse SC shown on the last page.
These are fun to make and will make lovely small gifts for those special people you like to remember at Christmas.

Instructions Not Very Clear

I am absolutely obsessed with this pattern. After viewing it several times, I finally purchased it. I am an advanced crocheter but this pattern has had me frog almost every thing I attempted. The instructions aren't very clear and there are no pictures to help clarify. I will continue to muddle my way through this pattern as I love the results so much but I wish the creator would write an addendum to it.

Pretty but pattern isn’t great

Very beautiful but requires an experienced crocheter to tweak issues in the pattern. The pattern has mistakes in its wording throughout. The biggest issue is the Border Trim section where it asks to sc DEFINITELY not enough for a border side

Nice end product, but...

This pattern could benefit with a massive revision. It's not formatted to be very eye-friendly and runs together in two columns that strain the eyes. It does not keep a stitch count at the end of every row, but instead drops one on you when you're almost supposed to be done with the motif. You'll benefit keeping your own stitch count. Also, it uses sc in its stitch count the couple times it does give you one, but it means all stitches.

Also their tr/dc clusters only consist of 2 stitches, which leaves it looking a bit sparse. I changed mine to three.

Very nice end product, but be prepared to bring a lot of patience.

Get More Yarn than it says!

Not quite finished with this, but as an experienced crocheter I found the directions to be a bit hard to follow. It's a pretty pattern if a bit complicated. I got the brown version, and the "number of balls" proved to be woefully inadequate. I ran out of the "Main Color" at about the third or forth flower motif. Then I ran out of "Color 2" and "Color 4" . So had to get creative with colors to finish the motifs and corner triangles. If you get this, get at least one or two extra "balls" of the main color, and colors 2 and 4.

Poorly written pattern for experienced crocheters

Beautiful afghan… but the pattern is very poorly written. To start the pattern does not include how much yarn is needed! … the directions say “10 balls med green worsted weight yarn”… Without reference to a specific yarn or yardage. There’s no way to know how much yarn to buy. There is even a discrepancy between the amount of yarn to buy if you choose to make the green version or the brown version! Then this is an old fashioned pattern without any pictures. The here are lots of special stitches so if you are unfamiliar with special crochet instructions, this pattern doesn’t do much to help. Not user friendly!

Have not started this project yet but the pattern seems to be easy to follow. The only thing I am confused on is it calls for balls of yarn not skeins and the amount needed for the two variations is diffrent.
