Sparkle Christmas Tree Skirt Crochet Kit

I saw this kit and thought it was pretty. I am about 2/3 finished and it’s very pretty but even though I used the recommend hook and my guage was correct I ran out of both gold and red yarn. MM very quickly sent another gold and couldn’t send the red for it was on back order but was told to reach out if I ran out. Well I did but decided to use white on a peak at either end and use red in between. To make sure I had enough even with the second gold I skipped the ch1 in between stitches and only did a ch1 for the peaks for both the red and gold rows. My advice either go down a hook size or even if guage is correct crochet a little tighter. I think two of white, gold and red should be included in this kit. I had a whole skein of white not used but glad I had it for I needed it to finish up the rest row. Cant wait to finish it.

I also made this pattern. Everyone loved it and couldn’t choose between the two.

The kit is great, instructions are clear. Fun item to make.

I consider myself an intermediate crocheted and found I was able to understand the instructions as presented and the piece came out as described. Its stunning and will be a lovely addition to my tree. The materials were great quality with just enough sparkle.

I didn’t have enough gold to finish the project and customer service immediately sent me a skein so I could finish. The skirt looks beautiful.

The pattern was easy to follow, however there was not enough gold in the kit.

Worked up well but as one other reviewer mentioned, the kit had an extra skein of one color and was short on another color. The completed skirt is now under my Christmas tree and looks great!

A beautiful tree skirt, bright, clear Christmas colors. A basic granny square stitch. Instructions are a bit vague, it would help if number of stitches were included more often.

Love the yarn colors! I haven’t started yet, want to finish my current WIP. Read through instructions, they look pretty easy to follow. Since I knit more than crochet, I was concerned kit might be too difficult. Think this will be a great addition to our tree decorations!

Yarn was great to work with but I had an extra skein of one color and I had to buy extra of another. I would definitely buy more though!

Loved everthing about the tree skirt, it was very fun to make and turned out great!

It’s beautiful!!! But when I crocheted rnd 7 it was fine then when I went to join rnd 7 it was difficult. And they both said to join gold yarn. And it didn’t turn out like the picture. I have been crocheting for 48 years and this has me stumped! I gave it a 5 star because it’s beautiful! But a 2 star for the pattern!

Love how this works up really fast. Needs to have more gold yarn. Ran out and had to order more. Also ordered more red just in case. Then while I was at it, I ordered enough yarn to make a second one for my son. Now just waiting for my yarn to show up. Fun to work on.

I am working on my second tree skirt. I bought yarn to make the first one and am now working on the yarn that came with the kit. I have finished the gold part of the pattern and there was not enough gold yarn. Had way too much white so had to do the last gold row in white. Just FYI It’s not a real problem...just improvise...:wink: Pattern is a little tricky if you are not that used to reading and following patterns. I had to rip out a lot but refuse to give up!!!

I love this Crochet Christmas Tree Kit. The yarn colors are so deep and rich and the yarn itself is sturdy yet soft to work with. I am still working on the kit and hope I can come back and add a photo once completed.

It works up quickly and the pattern is easy to follow.

I loved the kit but I had to call and ask for more red. They sent it with no argument. I find Mary Maxim very reliable.

Pattern is slightly confusing with a few errors like ch 2 instead of ch 1 so. Love how it is going together. Only about 1/3 of the way competed.

some of the instructions were very confusing. they were also difficult to figure out how to connect the motifs. maybe some one could rewrite them in a way that is less difficult. really enjoyed working with the sparkle yarn.
