This was created with Mary Maxim's best-selling worsted-weight yarn, Mary Maxim Starlette (approx. 230 yds). With today's trending colors, you can make them to suit your home decor. Keep in mind, yardage will vary. These charming stockings will add a sense of fun and nostalgia to your holiday decor. Make them for your family to treasure for a lifetime! To make one each: Mary Maxim Starlette Green (2), White (1), Tan (10 yd), Brown (10 yd), Dk Grey (10 yd), Lt Grey (15 yd), Red (40 yd), Black (5 yd). Requires knitting needles size 8 U.S. (5 mm). Finished size approx. 20-22" Intermediate Knit.

I was able to complete the stocking! I watched a video on Mary Maxim to help with steps I hadn't knit before which was helpful to visualize. I am happy to have been able to make this stocking for my grandson.
I should have been told they were digital downloads before I purchased this item. And, along with the other patterns I purchased some are only grids, no instructions. Plus an afghan pattern I wanted was only the birds and not the rest of the afghan. Very disappointed.

I purchased these patterns because my original patterns (purchased about 1976) were worn out. I have most of the stockings patterns to include all 4 books. I am starting on making stockings for the 6th generation. Each generation has 2 different patterns. I love mary maxim patterns and have a big pile of them. Keep coming with more christmas stocking patterns. I use the original pattern for the stocking since I started with that oattern and want to make them all the same size

I was happy to get the pattern for these Christmas stockings but miss getting the stocking kits with the required yarn all in one package.
This was a very easy pattern to follow and looked beautiful when completed. I have done several of these stockings for family and friends. All loved them. Looking forward to doing the reindeer next.

Poor printing
A bit more complicated chart but good instructions
I've knit at least 20 of these stockings over the years for all the kids in the family who are now adults and still use them. Patterns are easy to follow and the stockings look wonderful when finished. The only thing I would advise is don't hang the stockings once Santa fills them.....they really will stretch!
Love this classic pattern. I did find that the pattern is written in an old-fashioned way but it was easy to figure out.
