I am sorry I have never given a bad review for anything I have bought from Mary maxim but I am for this yarn. The gold thread that is twisted around this yarn to make the sparkle is thin and breaks continually as you are using it so you end up with big areas that have no sparkle and then a bit more and then none again. Don't like it at all and would never buy it again.

This yarn looks pretty on the website. But, it is so much more gorgeous in person! The sparkle is amazing! I was also surprised how nice the yarn is. It was very enjoyable to work with. It is a little scratchy; but, it was perfect for my purpose - making a decorative Christmas Afghan.

I used the Starlette sparkle in Topaz, (gold sparkle) and Starlette Cardinal, (the best red ever!), to make a longtime dear friend a Tree of Life blanket. Turned out better than I’d hoped. The picture doesn’t really show the gold thread, but it did really “Sparkle” in real life.
