This classic design never goes out of style! Designed by Barb Murray. Kit includes Mary Maxim worsted yarns in Mary Maxim Aran Irish Tweed and Mary Maxim Maximum Value yarns and pattern. Finished size 54" (137.16 cm) x 61" (154.94 cm). Requires 36" Circular Needle size 8.
Stitch Requirements: Knit, purl, place marker, repeat, decrease.

Great customer service! I bought the newer Fox Cardigan Kit. When I received the kit one of the skeins of yarn was not the same brand as all others in the kit. I contacted Mary Maxim customer service and alerted them to the problem. They responded quickly and replaced the incorrect skein with one of the matching brand and color free of charge!
It came together quickly. The hanger was small and made me worry it wouldn’t hold up the whole project up. It needed a little more support over all. But really is cute.

A beautiful piece but very time consuming. The weaving took a long time but I would say absolutely worth it.
I made it larger than the pattern so it could be used more as a blanket than a throw.
To make this look plaid you have to weave by hand as well as knit. I wish I had known this. It should state this is the description. Weaving over 200 pieces of yarn is a lot of work. I’m am a knitter not a weaver.
Think this will be a great addition to our house. Fun to knit without a lot of extra effort looking at pattern
The yarn in the kit is good quality. I have just started the Maritime Plaid Afghan and it is a good project to do while watching Tv as it simple to do. I'm sure when I get to the part where the weaving starts that I will have to pay more attention. So far I am enjoying it and I am sure I will love it when it is done!
The blanket is fine but quite a bit of sewing is required to complete the plaid pattern. I was a little disappointed.
I like the concept of weaving to creat the plaid. I am not at that point yet and I’m thinking it may be a bit tedious!!

Just started to make this afghan and am loving it so far.
This pattern was easy to follow, and very well explained. I did find all the weaving pretty tedious, but the final result makes all of it worth it. Just note, when weaving to not pull the yarn tight, it will make your afghan much smaller. I did block this one aggressively in order to get the shape back. Overall, not sure if I'd do it again, but I'm glad I made this one!
Simple and easy to knit. A little tedious adding in the vertical stripes to finish the look but worth it. Will try it again with a different color combination.
