Got for my 12 year old Granddaughter. She loves all crafts and wants to learn how to crochet. Think this will help her a lot!

The hand drawn diagrams are easy to follow & make a good complement to video tutorials. A few of the lessons feel like they're missing a couple intro steps, though!

You'll want to either print it out or have it on a portrait-mode tablet, to consult as you work.

I purchased this downloadable book for access to the original patterns, which were written specifically for a beginner (e.g. no use of abbreviations, detailed step-by-step instructions, etc). The description indicates there are patterns (i.e. description says "Patterns require Adobe Reader to view."), but no link to patterns is included in the download links. The only link provided is to the pdf of the instructions (for cast on, cast off, basic stitches etc.) The material included in the download is no better than any free instruction booklet available from the public library. Without the vintage patterns, this is very disappointing. That said, the diagrams are large and clear using easy to see black "yarn" to demonstrate the various skills.

I looked forward to this little book but it didn't download, so I didn't get it. So disappointed.

I learned how to knit from this book when I was a child. It was so helpful that I bought the download so that now I can teach my children how to knit.

This is a fantastic beginners book. I learned how to knit from it years ago and I'm now using it to teach 4-H classes. Great illustrations help a lot.

I was thrilled to find this classic insertion book. I taught myself to knit with it many moons ago - it’s still a great basic book, and cute.

Had this book many years ago. The only disappointment was the hat pattern isn’t any longer included.

I bought this for my grandaughter , who is teaching herself how to knit, I used this early on when learning to knit and crochet. The illustrations are great. The green monkey book is exactly like I remember.

Happy to find this book again. Perfect illustrations for the beginner or to refresh your memory. Will use it to help teach my granddaughters to knit.
