Description
Use our vintage pattern to knit the Houndstooth cape. Fair Isle knitting is easy to do with our graph-style pattern. Seed stitch trims the collar, button bands, and armhole slits. Originally knit with Mary Maxim Starlette Orlon Wintuk worsted-weight yarn with 280 yards per skein. Mary Maxim Starlette is our best-selling house yarn, and you can still purchase it today! Materials List: MC (16 oz), CC (16 oz), 29" circular needle size 8 (5 mm). One size—Intermediate knit.
Stitch Requirements: Knit, purl, repeat, decrease, cast on, cast off, stockinette stitch.

The kit is filled with quality yarn and terrific written instructions. Easter first, then I will dive right in to this project for our Country’s 250th anniversary. I have several framed flags to complement this afghan. Mary Maxim does it right!
Blanket was easy to do but had to call and get another skein of mid green as just one in the package and not enough to finish the trees much less to do two rows on the border. I have used 3/4 of the second skein. Not enough of the yellow to do the border so I used white instead . I hope more is added to future kits

Bag-O-Day Tonal Hues is amazing and addictive! I understand now why this yarn is called a "premium" acrylic yarn...there is nothing else similar to this yarn. I'm not certain how to describe the feel of this yarn, but it has a nice weight and feel --- really silky and cool to the touch. The colors are like nothing else on the market. The transitions between colors...gorgeous! I initially purchased one of each color because I was intrigued by the color names and how its related to Freddy Mercury and Queen. I hoped there were backstories on the ball bands, but it just made me want to revisit my Queen playlist and fall in love with their music all over again. I returned to purchase at least 4 skeins of each color to make shell stitch shawls --- not sure what I'm going to do with 13 shawls, but I just can't stop! My second purchase of course were from different lot batches, but there the color and quality of the different batches matched my original purchase...that's amazing! Crystal's yarn is worth every penny and I hope she comes out with solid colors to go with the Tonal Hues. Every color is a keeper! This is the only yarn that my husband asked why did you only buy one of each color? I told him that its $6.99 per skein so I just wanted to try it...He said you should have bought more!!! Catalog and website photos cannot do justice to this yarn and I'm glad I took Elise Rose Crochet's advice and tried this yarn for myself.
Love this yarn. It always has one knot in it. I just cut it out and retie it.
Very soft, works up nicely without knots or tangled.
although i have not used any of it yet---this last skein i got--i love this brand of yarn and use a lot of it..it is a good thickness and works up wonderfully...
Brick & mortar stores near me that carry yarn are about all closed. Have to hunt & hunts for the yarn I need for projects. Ordered on-line, received pretty quickly, & yarn was as described. Was pleased with my purchase.

Love this pattern! So far I've made 3 and working on the fourth. All are done with color wheels thin cotton yarn with lighter colors at the tops and darker colors on the bottoms of each. Taking them to give to my sisters on our Caribbean cruise in a few weeks. I know they will be surprised!
