Description
Knit a girl's hat for winter using this vintage pattern. Sizes 4 & 8 yrs. Created in 1960, this adorable girl's ear warmer was made with 4-oz Mary Maxim's Mellowspun Orlon Wintuck yarn, which offered 420 yds per skein at that time. We currently have a wonderful selection of super soft sport-weight yarns to choose from, that can be used for this project! Be sure to check yardage as it may differ. All that is needed now are the knitting needles size U.S. 6 (4 mm) and a crochet hook size G-6 (4 mm).
Stitch Requirements: Knit, purl, slip stitch, stockinette stitch, increase, decrease, repeat, work even as set, through the back loop, repeat, place marker.

I love this pattern and the yarn. I consider myself somewhere in the intermediate crochet skill range. I've had to frog a few times, am using a few more stitch markers than normal and am counting each side to stay organized, but the afghan is turning out amazing so far. I can't wait to finish it.
Wonderful puzzle I bought as a gift for my puzzle enthusiast friend. I love the colors and image. Hope this is a challenge for her to put together.
