I have crocheted six of MJs sweaters in the last 3 years but this is my first kit and first time using MJs yarn. Mary Maxim makes the process very easy by offering kits - they arrive in a clear reusable zipper bag with heavy printed patterns making it easy to start crocheting.
The only thing I have to say is greatness. I got 3 boxes of the same yarn, but a little bit of a difference in each one. If you buy more than 2 maybe make the boyarn different. I love them really addicting.
I saw this is beautiful. As soon as I finished with my current project I’m going to start this!

The yarn split when trying to knit, the color was supposed to be teal but was actually dark navy blue, almost black, joined in many places.
The yarn I ordered was called deep teal. It is a dark navy and not suitable for a little girl. I was very disappointed and won’t be able to make this as a gift for the child who requested it. A complete waste of money.

It’s a very interesting pattern. The only issue is it starts with a purl row, which made it curl. I had to do a row of slip stitch across it flattened it out.
I made this in the 'Wisteria' colorway. I used markers between all pattern repeats to help me stay on track, instead of only at the end and beginning of the border as instructed.
The yarn is very soft. The kit comes with 6 skeins of yarn.

I haven't had a chance to start it yet as I have been working on the bay afghan kits I had ordered and the slipper. I think it will be one of the project's I boughtto take to our r. v. when we can go come May. Love the color though
This is a beautiful pattern and a bit challenging. The border stitch is new to me and I love it! As other reviewers have mentioned, the yarn does tend to split. However, I like the result the yarn is giving. I chose the Merlot color. A rich purple with a touch of mottled red.

Although I am enjoying this piece, I find the yarn to be less than desirable; Mary Maxim Best Value - this pattern includes a lot of yarn over/pass over and making stitches - not the best yarn for these moves in that it splits constantly
I'm just starting this blanket and am having a little trouble keeping the correct number of stitches on my needle. It is probably because I'm not giving it my full attention and either listening to a book or watching TV at the same time. So it's my own fault. I feel that after I get past the border it will be smooth sailing. I am just starting it but it looks like I will be happy with the finished product.

I find the pattern lovely but the yarn is not good for this item.
It is flying apart into fibres that are mostly air bound and frizzy in texture!

I really like the colour I chose as it can be hard to tell from a picture and I do like knitting detailed patterns like this one.

So I haven’t begun to construct the blanket yet the materials Look good and pattern is easy to follow.
Haven’t finished it yet. Had to stop to knit baby blanket for friend of my daughter. Looking good though.
