The perfect sweater for home, work or play. Mary Maxim Starlette Ragg, available in 4 colors, gives a country homespun look to any garment. Color Denim goes from jeans on the weekend to wearing with classic black or navy slacks. The other colors, Black (shown on the website), Grey, and Brown are also versatile to fit with any wardrobes. You or the recipient of your loving knitting will love the ease of machine wash and dry on a delicate cycle, no hand washing required.
The Garter Check pattern, used on the Fronts, Back, and Sleeves, is a knit/purl repeat worked in 12 rows. Alternating bands of garter stitch are set off by strong vertical lines of ribbing between the checks, giving slimming lines to the finished sweater. As you work the pattern, you see the interesting texture developed. It is an easy repeat, so the pieces are knit up fairly quickly. The relaxed finished fabric has an easy stretch, so the sweater has a minimum of shaping.
You may find yourself making this one of your go-to knit patterns. The next time you are thinking of making a baby blanket, scarf, or throw, in any yarn, consider the Garter Check pattern. The multiple of 8 stitches means it is a versatile pattern, easily adapted to other projects.
The broad bands of Seeded Rib pattern, worked on both front edges, give a flattering line to the look of the sweater and make it stand out from other sweaters you may have.
