This was created in 2006 with Mary Maxim's best-selling worsted weight yarn, Mary Maxim Starlette (190 yds). This stocking will add a sense of charm and nostalgia to your holiday decor. Make it for your family to treasure for a lifetime! Materials needed: White (2 skn), Red (1 skn), 35 yd pcs: Bright Red, Dk Red, Lt Brown, Green, Black Yellow. Requires knitting needles size U.S. 8 (5 mm). Finished size: approx. 20". Intermediate knit.

First time ordering a surprise color and I was pleasantly surprised with the color. I made myself a fun sun hat for the beach. It’s floppy so my next one will use some wire for the edge but I still think it’s cute
Good products at a good price
I’m still pretty new to using cotton yarn, and I really love the speckled colors in Premier Cotton. The little pops of color are so cute in finished projects and make even simple patterns look extra fun. It’s easy to work with, has nice stitch definition, and works great for the hats, dishcloths, and other cotton projects I’ve been making. I’ll definitely keep buying the speckles!
I’m pretty new to using cotton yarn, and Premier Cotton has been really easy to learn with. I’ve used it for sun hats and am now trying dishcloths and other patterns. It has nice stitch definition, holds its shape well, and is still soft and easy to work with. I’ve even had to pull out and redo a few sections, and the yarn has held up great. Definitely a cotton yarn I’ll keep using!

Poor printing
The stocking turned out nicely, I used a freckled cream yarn for the main color. The toe in this pattern points to the right and all other Mary Maxim stocking patterns that I have used go to the left. I worked the graft switching the “read purl” and “read knit” to get it match my other stockings.

Cardinal stocking
The instructions are unclear about whether the cardinal is cross-stitch by hand or fair isle knit. Not easy to understand. Also the pattern did not come with option to buy yarn to make the project.
Love making them
I have been so busy finishing orders and other Christmas presents, and hurting my knitting hand, have been unable to start this one. Hopefully soon.
