Knit these afghans with our vintage pattern. Includes two great designs, "The Sportsman" & "Modernistic" afghan pattern! Both were created using Mary Maxim Double Knit yarn a 4-ply sport weight with approx. 170 yds per 2 oz skein. Shop all our DK sport-weight yarns for the perfect shades, whether you want to go traditional, modern or anything in between. Keep in mind yardages vary. Intermediate knit.
Modern Materials List:
Main color 19 skeins

Knitting needle sizes U.S. 4 (3.50 mm) and medium-size crochet hook.
Modern Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, single crochet.

I rarely write reviews, but this one deserves a good review. It's the second mosaic blanket I have crocheted. The first one was definitely a practice one for me and I was hesitate to start this one. I was pleasantly surprised at how well written the pattern was and the design came out perfect! I loved having the written pattern, it was so much easier to follow than just a graph. The way it was written helped to eliminate mistakes also. It's just beautiful!
I absolutely love this yarn, it is smooth and easy to work with. The variegated makes the most beautiful washcloths, especially when made in the lemon peel stitch alternating colors every row. I made some with this yarn in "rosy cheeks" alternated with black, it was absolutely gorgeous and the recipient loved them.
I absolutely LOVE this stuff.
I use it all the time, run with another cotton/mostly cotton yarn and a large hook to make my dish scrubbies and outside of a Scrub Daddy I was gifted, I haven't used anything else to wash my dishes. This stuff is a massive game changer, and it's surprisingly easy to crochet with given all the knobbly bits.
