[…] The entire blanket requires 1620 yards of Starlette  yarn divided into as many or as few colors as you desire. Using Starlette, for our blanket we will be using Mid Green as Color 1 ( 7 skeins) , Natural as Color 2 (4 skeins) , and Deep Green as Color 3 (4 skeins). As we mentioned in the Intro Post, this is a GREAT project to use up your stash. Each square requires approximately 60 yards, and there will be a total of 42 squares.  In case you missed it, here is Week One. […]

Crochet-Along (Week 2),

Thank you Heather, I did notice the archives so I knew they would be around for a long while. I am also printing them out, I prefer working from a sheet of paper, going to save them all, as I can imagine doing this again with another color. Depending on how it goes at the end, the assembling. Hopes are up!

Carol,

Never got an answer to my first inquiry….

I too can’t get #2 figured out. I end up with too many stitches. After you sc in the first 4 sc, do you PS in that last sc (the fourth one?) or the next one?

Sally,

Sally we will get a video together to post for you to help with the square. It should be up by tomorrow, if you send your email address to heather@marymaxim.com I will send a copy of the video link directly to you :)

Heather Mango,

Carol, these will stay on the blog, so go at your own pace and enjoy it!

Heather Mango,

With square #2, when I finish row 2, there are now 30 stitches across the top. Where did those extra 5 stitches come from, and how do I make row 3 go back to 25 stitches?

mathbard,

Think I figured it out. The chain 1 to close the PS doesn’t count has a stitch. Now onto square 3! Yay!

Curious though, why chain 2 before turning when the next row is single stitches?

mathbard,

Can’t wait for more

ANGELA BANNER,

So glad you shared that tip, that works well for me.

Carol,

Off to a late start, just finished the second square and 10 are listed already. Oh well, not a race, right. Enjoying it so far, while waiting for Spring in Maine.

Carol,

All my squares are completed. Waiting for the next ones .. Halifax . Nova Scotia

Sarah durnford,

Waiting for the next set of squares.. Halifax Nova scotia

Sarah durnford,

Thank you for this suggestion, I had never heard of it, but it does a great job.

Janie,

1620 yards

Heather Mango,

Sorry Janie, that was in the intro post, we will add it in to each one since there was some confusion :) 1620 yards of Starlette in as many or as few colors as you wish.
