Crochet-Along (Week 2)

The entire blanket requires 1620 yards of Starlette  yarn divided into as many or as few colors as you desire. Using Starlette, for our blanket we will be using Mid Green as Color 1 ( 7 skeins) , Natural as Color 2 (4 skeins) , and Deep Green as Color 3 (4 skeins). As we mentioned in the Intro Post, this is a GREAT project to use up your stash. Each square requires approximately 60 yards, and there will be a total of 42 squares.  In case you missed it, here is Week One. Week Two: This week we are using Color 3 Each square should finish at approximately 7" using an H hook or any size hook needed to obtain this size. Evelyn, I am sorry you are having such a difficult time with this square. You are doing everything right with changing your hook size. If you wanted to reduce the number of stitches you may do so, just keep the offset clusters in the middle for the design.

For the life of me, I cannot make square 5 (offset cluster) small enough! I’ve been working on this same square for almost two hours – I’ve gone from an H hook to an E and cut out one of the chain one stitches, and it’s still 7.5 inches!!! Arrggghhhh!! Any advice??
