Crochet-Along (Week 2)

Crochet-Along (Week 2)

Kendra Sagash |

The entire blanket requires 1620 yards of Starlette  yarn divided into as many or as few colors as you desire. Using Starlette, for our blanket we will be using Mid Green as Color 1 ( 7 skeins) , Natural as Color 2 (4 skeins) , and Deep Green as Color 3 (4 skeins). As we mentioned in the Intro Post, this is a GREAT project to use up your stash. Each square requires approximately 60 yards, and there will be a total of 42 squares.  In case you missed it, here is Week One. Week Two: This week we are using Color 3 Each square should finish at approximately 7" using an H hook or any size hook needed to obtain this size. You may need to change hook sizes between squares, it is very important your squares finish at the same size.   Square 4 Ch 27 loosely. Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch to end, ch 2, turn – 25 hdc Row 2: Hdc in first hdc and in each hdc to end, ch 2, turn (25 hdc) Repeat Row 2 until square measures 7”   Square 5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HsAr2nTQ6I Ch 27 loosely. Evelyn, I am sorry you are having such a difficult time with this square. You are doing everything right with changing your hook size. If you wanted to reduce the number of stitches you may do so, just keep the offset clusters in the middle for the design.

Kendra Sagash,

Hi Lynda! If you scroll to the bottom of the post, there is the Intermediate playlist from Youtube. Here is the link to our channel :https://www.youtube.com/user/marymaximdotcom If there is anything else specific you are looking for help with, just leave a comment and we will see what we can do!

Heather Mango,

All caught up ! First time ever and really enjoying the CAL !

suzanne Cashin,

For the life of me, I cannot make square 5 (offset cluster) small enough! I’ve been working on this same square for almost two hours – I’ve gone from an H hook to an E and cut out one of the chain one stitches, and it’s still 7.5 inches!!! Arrggghhhh!! Any advice??

Evelyn Kasserman,

Just finished square #3 from the second week, love all the new stitches.

Betty Eason,

I’m FINALLY caught up! I finished the last square last night. Looking forward to the next ones!

Wanda Kruise,

This is my first ever CAL and I am so happy that I saw the invite in time to get involved. I told myself I would complete each weeks posted patterns in a timely fashion. Hahaha on me. I did two squares and am already behind from the first week.
