Beautiful pattern, horrid yarn

I love the pattern, however the Mary Maxim Prism yarn is one of the absolute worst yarns I have ever tried to use. It has the worst stitch definition and does not frog well at all. I have wasted more yarn that is necessary just on the first 4 rows. Could you let me know of a good substitute for this yarn? that would really be appreciated.

Hello Pat, we're sorry to hear about your experience with the yarn. We understand your frustration and would be happy to recommend a better substitute for you. Feel free to reach out to us for assistance at info@marymaxim.com

Poor quality

The colors are beautiful, but the quality of the yarn is not good. The colored yarn varies greatly in weight, going from as thin as thread to almost as thick as the white. The white yarn hasn't been spun properly, and the strands are parallel to each other, which makes the needle poke through very often, annoying. Working with both is frustrating.

Hello Lou, thank you for your review on the Chasing A Rainbow Blanket. I apologize that you were frustrated with this project. The mary Maxim Prism yarn that is used in this baby blanket is a roving style yarn. This yarn does vary in consistency and thickness to create stunning effects. I have provided a link below for more information and tips on how to work with our prism yarn. If you have any other questions or concerns please let us know. https://www.marymaxim.com/blogs/acrylic-yarn/mary-maxim-prism-yarn-premium-acrylic-light-weight-yarn-free-patterns

I need to ask a question. Is it a blanket ? OR is it something you have to knit yourself?

Lovely blanket with quality yarns. Was easy and fun to make and is truly gift-worthy.

Pattern unsuitable for baby blanket

This pattern requires cutting the yarn at the end of every row, resulting in a huge number of ends to be worked in. Which will undoubtedly work themselves out with the frequent washing required for baby items. Hanging threads is not something we want on our baby blankets. Suggest the pattern be revised to adult use, or a couch throw which won't be washed frequently, or used by children.

Thank you for your comments. In working this blanket it is best to work the ends in along the sides and to leave about 2.5 inches to work in when changing colors. The style of blanket being a reversible blanket having ends is the only way to get the look required. The Prism yarn is a un spun yarn and with washings it will hold to the other fibers to avoid working loose in the piece.

Nice quality yarn

Love the yarn and the pattern. Not crazy about working diagonally because I can't seem to get straight edges but hopefully, when I am done, it will be straight.
