Final Instructions

Final Instructions

Thank you so much for your patience, this is the final week of our Make Along.  We appreciate your understanding and hope you are as excited to complete this project as we were.

New Stitch:

SC-Join - Insert the hook in the stitch of your current row and into the back bump of the beginning chain, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook

Instructions:

You should have 27 stitches in your row. Repeat weeks 1-3 once.

Lay both ends together without twisting your work in order to join

Last Row: Ch1, SC-Join in first stitch, and in each stitch to the end of the row.

Turn your work so you are working along the edge of your joined cowl.  Now working into ends of rows, work two single crochets around each double crochet row and work one single crochet around each single crochet row to the the last stitch, join with a slip stitch. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Instructions:

Work Week 2, decreasing one stitch in the last row. Work Weeks 1-3 once more.  Work week 2 again, decreasing one stitch in the last row. Cast off.

You may find that the stitches in your Week 3 Pattern shift to one side.  As this is a cowl, it will still lay nicely around your neck, but if you choose to, you can block the finished cowl before seaming to even out the edges. See our article on How to Block Acrylic Yarn.

Lay both ends together without twisting your work in order to seam together.  Seam both ends together. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 until the week 2 portion of the pattern measures approximately 9 inches, ending on a row 2.

Week 2 helpful hint

Working into the ch-3 space pulls the fabric together.  We balanced this with 2 sc stitches at the beginning and ending of each row.  Make sure you are working these stitches into the first and last stitches of each row for best results.

Week 2 Instructions

Rows 16-19: Repeat Rows 14 & 15 twice.

Repeat from Rows 2-4 once

Above is a graph to work this lattice pattern from.  You are looking at the pattern from the right side, where you see a dash it indicates a purl stitch when you view the fabric from the right side and a blank on the grid it indicates a knit stitch from the right side of your work.  Always read the graph from Right to Left if you are working the right side of the fabric, and from Left to Right if you are working the wrong side of the fabric.

Week 2 helpful hint

Keep a crochet hook with you for this part of the pattern.  It's really easy to have one stitch off, but it's also an easy pattern to latter down and correct.

Thanks for joining us, Week 3 is coming soon!
