The original design was created in the 1960's and made with Mary Maxim Starlette yarn, which included 140 yards per 2 oz skein. Experience the endless possibilities of creating this unique fringed poncho and tam with the wide range of worsted-weight yarns available, including Mary Maxim Starlette! Choose from a variety of beautiful colors to personalize the set with her favorite colors. Please note, yardage may differ. Requires knitting needles sizes 8 (5 mm) and 10.5 (6.5 mm). Fits children's sizes 2-8—Intermediate knit.

It turned out beautifully
The pattern itself has been a really interesting challenge, as my first colorwork piece. It's just the right amount of challenge without being overwhelming. The kit is great, it had just enough yarn for everything, and some leftover for my first few mistakes! It didn't come with any closure (buttons/zipper), but I'm actually glad for that, as I'm quite picky with that sort of thing and am happy to find my own.
Overall, I'm very glad to have purchased and knitted the whole thing! Definitely recommend, and I was thrilled to be able to support a MI brand.
