Create a timeless piece with this classic pattern, perfect for knitting this cozy scarf and cap! Originally created in 1960 using Mary Maxim Mellowspun, which offered 420 yards per skein at that time. Please note, that yardages and color options have changed. You will find all our sportweight yarns here. All you need is a pair of size 6 (4 mm) and 10 (6 mm) knitting needles to get started! One size—Easy knit.
Stitch Requirements: Knit, purl, stockinette stitch, increase, decrease, repeat, slip stitch, work even as set, through the back loop, place marker.

6/30/26. Got a great variety of shades. I got a Creamsicle looking skein which I’ve been unable to purchase online for a while. Happy about that. Also got a bunch of smaller balls of the red and green, which I will happily use for Christmas projects. I will definitely buy again multiple of these at once.
This yarn works well on my .4.5 mm standard knitting machine. It is very sift, and seems delicate, but it is 50% nylon and 50% acrylic, tuff fibers.
