Marrakesh Persian Tiles Throw

I read the pattern and instructions over before starting to crochet anything. I have to say that this has been the easiest to follow of any instructions I have ever followed. The combination of colors is excellent. I am 4 hexagons and 5 squares in and am connecting them as I go. I am working in batches of 4 to keep any confusion at bay. I have only made 1 modification, the x shaped treble crochets have become double treble crochets to keep from puckering. This is a wedding gift, I hope they love it.

I find this project both unique and fun to work on.
I’m an experienced crocheter (5+ decades), so I appreciate different ideas and ways to spice up my projects!

This throw pattern is absolutely beautiful and the colors are so vibrant! Pattern is well written and easy to follow and there was a layout page included in my kit which was also easy to follow. I ran a little short on two main colors used and customer service was excellent in helping me. In addition, I had plenty of the secondary colors leftover, so I ordered more skeins of the colors I needed and was able to get a second throw.

This was a delight to work up. Instructions clear. As others have mentioned, the supply of yarn provided does fall short on certain colors. I ran short on the Really Red 12 inches from finish and had to sub the magenta. Frustrating, but still came out to my liking.

This is by far my favorite Persian Tile Afghan. I really love the colors. I ordered one of these directly from Janie Crow and one from Mary Maxim. I have to say the colors from here were prettier than the StyleCraft yarn.

Beautiful pattern! My first “granny square” project. I’m not great at changing colors and “finishing off”, so it was a big challenge. I also didn’t get the gauge quite right, so I had to order extra yarn. Love the result; beautiful colors and amazing pattern!

It's a very nice pattern with good quality yarn. However, there is at least one misprints on the conversion guide. The picture for Octagon Motif Two is the same as Motif One, which lead to some confusion when I initially started. It would be nice if that would be fixed in future versions.

I recently purchased this kit, and was surprised to find that a substitution had been made for the gingerbread color -- but they sent a different weight of yarn! So I found the correct yarn online and purchased it from another company. Then when I began to make my motifs, I discovered that the photo of Octagon Motif Two is incorrect. What is pictured is a repeat of Octagon Motif One. I don't ordinarily buy kits, and may not do so again.

One skein of yarn was of from a different company and definitely not like the others in the kit. Would really like the yarn to be what was listed in the description of the kit. Pattern is beautiful. Would have found my own yarn had I known about different brand of yarn.

This is a stunning afghan; I am greatly enjoying making it. Not overly challenging, but definitely a pattern that keeps your attention. Because I like larger afghans, I decided to make up my own couple of tiles to add to the end to make it longer, so I ended up ordering a skein more of the yarn colors. Still working on it, but I am enjoying every minute of it!

I haven’t started yet but can’t get this kit off my mind. So cleaning up a few projects to clean up my brain. Absolutely one of those patterns to soothe one’s eyes and brain. The yarn :u1F9F6: is softer than you think it should be.

Love the colors, the pattern was easy to understand. The yarn was so soft I could not stop bragging about this kit. Will definitely buy again and again!!!!

The instructions are written for an Afghan in a different color. We’re supposed to make color changes ourselves and the change instructions only include two motives when there are actually three instructions for one triangle and there are four. This is just a mess. This is way overpriced

I understand that I may have received some substitutes, but many of the colors were extremely different than the originals. Many weren’t even the same grams and one should have been four of one color, and I received only three. I called about this and was told that it was first-come, first-served. I was told on Facebook that someone sent me an email about it, but I never received it (that really wouldn’t have helped me anyway). I ended up returning everything back to the company.

I've finished over a dozen of this pattern and I believe this latest color set is the best one yet! The color choice is outstanding, This one's for my grandson.

The order arrived so well packaged, with each kit in a separate bag that included a printed version of the pattern. I would definitely recommend ordering from Mary Maxim and will order again in the future.
