Use this free knitting pattern to make a cozy baby blanket in a basketweave design. Originally created with Mary Maxim Dk/Sport Weight Baby Ragg yarn (no longer available), which was offered at 182 yds per skein at the time. Select from our current range of DK weight yarn options in trendy colors. Keep in mind, yardage may differ. You'll also need a pair of size 11 (8 mm) knitting needles, knitting using 2 strands of yarn.

It’s my first time following a pattern to knit something, and of course I am doing this because of PHM! But the pattern is pretty easy to follow and I’m making good progress- two sleeves done! Amaze amaze amaze! I bought the kit, and it comes with everything needed except for needles, which I appreciated so I could find a style of needle that work for me. I will probably be a lifelong Mary Maxim pattern purchaser now! If you’re on the fence and have beginner to intermediate knitting skills, try it. I was able to figure it out!
I got 2 skeins each in Deep Teal, Rich Red and Cottonwood. The colors are pretty with a light sheen and very soft. It's really nice to crochet with. I'm going to surprise my daughter with scarves when she visits from Georgia. She doesn't crochet so I try to keep her in throws and scarves plus blankets for her fur babies. I'm new to Mary Maxim, this will be my 2nd order for yarns, I can say I'm happy with my purchases.
