I'm a experienced crocheted and have used alpaca yarn many times and know it's characteristics. This yarn, however, drives me crazy with its splitting and lack of body and texture. I use Clover Amour hooks which help a little but not enough to make this an enjoyable project. My first Mary Maxim disappointment.
The yarn is difficult to work with and splits easily. I love the overall look, but I'm not wild about the pattern for the individual squares.

This Starburst throw is fun to make. I did change a section. The dreaded “magic circle”. Which I HATE. All you have to do is chain 9 or 10 and make a circle. When you are done, work the beginning leftover thread through the circle and tighten. Voila! The circle tightens. The magic circle is not for me! The only negative was the type of yarn, it looks like it was dragged across a dirty, linty floor and picked up tiny scraps of yarn. I guess it’s “a look” but I’m not wild about it.

I love the colors and enjoyed making this throw but just as the previous reviewer stated, I also ran out of the MC (Raw Cottton) and had to order another skein.
Loved the yarn. Loved the color combination in the kit. However, I had to order another skein of the Raw Cotton as I ran short during the assembly of the squares 3/4 of the way through.
