Beautiful sweater

At first I found this pattern very frustrating, however once I researched the Broiche stitch I realized the pattern should have been written as: Sl 1K, yrn fwd, Sl 1P, yrn over K1 rep to end K1 for the first row, then the 2nd row should read: Sl 1K, yrn fwd, Sl 1P, yrn over K2tog rep to end K1; the pattern written instructions is missing the yrn forward. Therefore I am only giving 4 star.

Where is the ribbing?

I have attempted this pattern several times, I still do not see the ribbing design found it very frustrating. I consider myself an intermediate to expert knitter. I have never had a pattern I could not figure out before. I have decided to create the sweater, but with a similar looking rib "corded rib" so I can achieve the the look of the sweater as pictured. I am giving it a single star which I hate to do.

Horrible pattern

I've knit several sweaters and consider myself advanced, however this pattern extremely hard to follow and the little guidance given in the instructions does not help at all. I ended up ripping the whole thing out and threw the pattern in the trash. I will use the yarn for another project

Stitch count off

I am knitting a small and after increases in row one the pattern says there should be 98 stitches. I have done this row numerous times and am only achieving 82 stitches. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thank you for your comments. If you would like to contact us at at 1-888-442-2266 we would be happy to assist you with the pattern. At this time there has been no corrections issued for this pattern.

stretched out after use

This pattern was challenging, but knit up well. It looked just like the photo but after wearing once the ribbing flattened out or stretched and now it is too big and loose. I've knit for years and never had this happen. (I blocked sweater and washed according to instructions on ball band) Totally unwearable. I'm very disappointed.

difficult pattern

I am an experienced knitter but was very frustrated with this pattern. I kept losing stitches and could not pick them up. After the third attempt I gave up. I did not want to return the remaining yarn and pay for shipping charges. With help from customer service, I downloaded pattern #2812-3N and am knitting the sweater using only the 2 colours from my kit and omitting the front cable stitch. No problems this time.

Ribbing, yes... but different from the photo display.

The challenge was to get the ribbing to look like the display photos. I ripped out the back 3 times not understanding its odd appearance from the photos. Then I moved onto the sleeve and got the same results. It is ribbing; beautiful finish, luxurious texture. Why do the photos reflect ribbing of the standard kind when clearly it's not? The real sweater is just a beautiful surprise and not recommended for the novice knitter. Thanks MM: Thank you for your review. It is possible that the pattern was changed slightly after photography. Your comments have been passed along to our design department.

pattern needs to be updated.

Example back After adding cc you dec. Down to 45 st. on size 40 Back to Mc7 rows Back to cc then continue to require length next decrease down to 33 st here is challenge....pattern states you have 70 st left when in fact you do not My knitting skills are advance so will be able to work though problem ... This is a lovely pattern but has challenges...knits easy enough just watch st counts MM: Thank you for your review. You should have 70 sts on your needles until you cast off for the shoulders. okay

I've knitted this in large size, wore it to take a picture and then took it out as it was too large for me(I knit kinda loose). I knitted it again in small and am giving it away to my friend as she seems to like it. I found the yoke kinda hard to pick up stitches but it looks decent to wear. So be it. This definitely is an advance knitter pattern as far as I am concerned. I am now in a knitting group helping someone else trying to figure out the same pattern that she had bought.

Challenging

While I found this a bit challenging when increasing stitches, I enjoyed completing it and like the look of the collar.

Awful

The pattern is very confusing and the neckline doesn't work out with the pattern. Would not recommend this pattern. When I have figured it out (if ever) I will throw the pattern in the garbage. (MM) Thank you for your review. Please call our customer service department and one of our knitters would be more than happy to help you with this pattern. [****]
