Crochet a broomstick lace shawl. Color image scanned from 1960 catalog! Originally created with Mary Maxim Angelspun Orlon (250 yds-2oz) brushed light-sport weight yarn. You can find all sport weight yarn currently offered here! We recommend Mary Maxim Mellowspun! Materials List: Sport-weight yarn (4 skeins), knit pin #50, and crochet hook size I/9 (5.5 mm). Finished size 20 x 68" (51 x 173 cms). Intermediate.
Stitch Requirements: Chain, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, repeat, slip stitch, through back of loop.

It’s my first time following a pattern to knit something, and of course I am doing this because of PHM! But the pattern is pretty easy to follow and I’m making good progress- two sleeves done! Amaze amaze amaze! I bought the kit, and it comes with everything needed except for needles, which I appreciated so I could find a style of needle that work for me. I will probably be a lifelong Mary Maxim pattern purchaser now! If you’re on the fence and have beginner to intermediate knitting skills, try it. I was able to figure it out!
