I love to crochet, I love hummingbirds. What could be better. I have not tried mosaic crochet with color changes in the rows. For me this is a new challenge. I do have to say that although I have not completed this project, I have found that there is a mistake in the written pattern in row 25. (I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed yet. I did buy this kit approximately 3 years ago)
In row 25, the written pattern states fldc below in next 39 st, that part should be fldc in next 42 st.
I'm not sure if there are any other errors but in any case, I am thrilled with the afghan kit and enjoying the new technique.

The yarn color is gorgeous. The hat design is beautiful. The pattern writing will make your eye twitch if you’re used to more traditional crochet pattern writing methods but you can get through it.
The yarn texture?
Absolute nightmare. Impossible to frog. Splits easily. The acrylic has a faux wool halo that grabs onto itself and will not let go.
Thankfully I did a minimal swatch to check gauge so I didn’t lose much yarn.
Maybe do a test swatch with a similar yarn instead of what comes in the kit if you’re unsure on gauge and are worried about having enough yarn to finish the project.
I need to return it. The instructions are a bit confusing the way they are written.

Yarn is too thin. Pattern is 99% slip stitches. Not my favorite, the pattern and the yarn.

Read and re-read everything in the instructions. Using some scrap yarn, I began to make a sample. Once you start, it all makes sense. It is important to keep your slip stitches very loose. I am sure I will be very pleased with the final results.
