I love to crochet, I love hummingbirds. What could be better. I have not tried mosaic crochet with color changes in the rows. For me this is a new challenge. I do have to say that although I have not completed this project, I have found that there is a mistake in the written pattern in row 25. (I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed yet. I did buy this kit approximately 3 years ago)
In row 25, the written pattern states fldc below in next 39 st, that part should be fldc in next 42 st.
I'm not sure if there are any other errors but in any case, I am thrilled with the afghan kit and enjoying the new technique.

I was disappointed that the yarn advertised in the catalog was replaced by Red Heart...I called the store but did not get much satisfaction with the reason...otherwise the mittens pattern is very easy to follow

Finished the cowl which was smaller than expected The pattern was easy enough to follow and the yarn is soft and the colour enhances the detail. It was quite pricey If you were to make it to sell I feel that it would be a hard sell just to recoup the cost of the kit

Mary Maxim was very generous with the yarn for this kit. I was sent 6 skeins of the Mary Maxim Aran Irish Twist yarn (plus some red and brown yarn for the optional embroidery.) I just finished making the set and it only took me 2.5 skeins. The hat took me around 85% of a skein, the mittens a little over half of one skein, and the cowl took a whole skein. I did find a couple small errors in the instructions, but they were easy to figure out. For the hat, there is an extra stitch (a p1) in the middle of the instructions for "Rows 28, 32 and 36:" The extra stitch comes after the "[p3tog, KPK] 4 times". So, that p1 should be crossed out, and instead just go directly to the k1, p1, k2, p4, etc.
