The Enchanted Garden

I rated this 4 stars because I ran out of yarn (charcoal) twice while completing the envelope border. I ordered larger skeins than what came in the kit and needed more that one.

The yarn choices are stunning. The pattern is excellent. It provides the charts for each feature design/section along with worded row instructions. The final result is fabulous. I posted it online and have received oodles of compliments on the finished afghan.

Beautiful and elegant!

This was one of my favorite projects. The prism yarn is soft and luminous. One note, it is difficult to frog, so check your work. In my kit, I got Caron Simply Soft Chacoal as a substitute. I was pleased as I have worked extensively with the yarn and like how it feels and looks. The pattern is easy to follow- be sure to check stitch counts in the first few rows and in the rows between patterns. I did my second double border and will say they are TOUGH, especially the first row on each side. Worth it in the end, as I like the chunkiness of the double border.

A Joy to crochet

My first mosaic crochet. YouTube link on pg 10 to Tinna Thorudottir’s beginner mosaic crochet lessons After completing her easy lessons, I gained the confidence to complete the project. Tina cautions against using dark colours (harder to see), but with good lighting, I am now on pattern 6 of 11. I started three weeks ago. I like that with each row, the pattern evolves. The prism yarn suits the pattern with virtually no adjustments, placing the rose where the flowers should be and the green where green should be. I do plan out the order of the prism balls as I go.

Great Overlay Mosaic pattern

I loved the pattern and am addicted to overlay or mosaic crochet, this one looked so beautiful. It is an easy overlay pattern, easy to follow instructions. Although I'm not fond of Mary Maxims Best Value yarn, I'm managing. I think the pattern would have worked up better with a DK yarn instead of a 4 Worsted weight yarn as the background. I will make this pattern again I'm sure with the same Prism yarn only a different color and a lighter background yarn in a lighter color, this charcoal black is hard to see the stitches.

Garden mosaic

I wasn't sure if I liked the colors it was originally shown as completed. When I saw these colors I thought it would be nicer.

Not happy with the Prism color

Love the pattern! I have an issue with the yarns not being the same weight. Prism is a 3 and Caron Simply Soft is a 3. Also, the Prism Succulent color gradient has shadings that are too dark for the Caron Charcoal Heather color. I’ve had to remove the dark sections of the Prism yarn before using it, because once it’s crochet’d into the mosaic pattern, you cannot see it. As a result, I’ll probably have to order more of the Prism just to finish my blanket.

I love crocheting this mosaic pattern

I love crocheting this mosaic pattern. I do wish the main background color was available in a lighter shade as the charcoal Grey is hard to see the stitches. Also, I had to order more yarn, even though I used a smaller hook, I ran out of both yarns and had to delete the last pattern and ordered more charcoal to do the border.

Mosaic crochet

Just started this pattern. The dark background color is a bit hard to work with but it makes the other colors pop. I’m enjoying it so far. It’s going to be beautiful when finished.

I love mosaic crochet and

I love mosaic crochet and wanted a project to work on over the winter months. The colours and design are beautiful. I started to work on it early and it is coming along nicely. The background yarn is not great. It is coarse and does split. I have some concerns re washing because it is not machine wash and dry. I do not have a place where I can lay it out to dry.
Needless to say I am hooked and would show this gorgeous project to anyone interested in mosaic crochet.

Beautiful pattern

At first I was stalled by the look of complexity of the pattern but once I caught on to the process, it was easy. Love the graph plus words to double check accuracy. Having a little problem with the charcoal yarn being pieced together and shredded in places. It is not the same ply in places.
