This Desert Crochet Blanket designed by Briana K is such a fun adventure to work up with many different patterns neatly displayed in each section. This style of mosaic crochet will only work one color per row. There is no need to fasten off colors when changing every two rows, simply carry it up the side. Kit includes Mary Maxim Starlette yarn. Requires crochet hook size H-8 (5 mm). Size 41" x 56". Intermediate crochet.
Stitch Requirements: Chain, double crochet, skipped stitch, mosaic double crochet.

Love this yarn! So soft. Very easy to work with.
I am a complete newbie. Never knew how to knit but I practiced and learnt all the required techniques before I worked with my actual yarn. The multi coloured intarsia is quite hard for beginners so I would recommend using only 2 colours for intarsia and duplicate stitch the remaining colours and details. Completed the prohject in 1.5 months and while it definitely doesn't look as good as an experienced knitter since I've made a lot of mistakes on the intarsia parts, I am very proud of my cardigan :> Amaze amaze amaze!
I love this yarn! I make baby blankets to donate to local places. The yarn is soft, doesn't split, and has a great colo selection. AND its machine wash and dry!

I was very happy with my yarn! I ordered 12 , I got 9 of 1 color and 3 of another color. Plenty of each to make lots of items. I received the cones which I was really happy about . I got a nice mixture of the small skeins that came with each one. This should last me a long time but I would definitely order again. What a great value!

The Vintage Wallpaper Throw is an easy and fun project! I loved crocheting this throw and took it everywhere. People would come up to me and ask me about it and want to touch the yarn which is very soft. Of course I had to excitedly tell them all about Bag O Day and her easy tutorials! She does have a tutorial of this throw which I used a couple times for the border. I have never put a border on a blanket before. I love how quick and easy the half double crochet stitch is, it’s also my favorite stitch so far. This kit or the finished project would make a great gift! I will buy this again in other colors.

Love this Pattern, but there are still mistakes in the directions. I had made this same pattern before and downloaded the corrections this time.. only to discover that there are still errors! Luckily, I saved all my notes from the previous time! It is beautiful when finished!

I have done numerous mosaic projects before but I really struggled with section three of this project. I finally gave up on trying to follow the written instructions (which are very confusing starting with row 95) and worked off the chart.
There are some errors in the instructions which, at first, made me think the written instructions were incorrect in section three. The written instructions are incorrect for Row 26 (there are no mosaic double crochet stitches in even rows) and Row 79 (chain 5, skip 6 - the number of chained stitches should always equal the number of skipped stitches).
Otherwise, the colors are beautiful and the design is unique. I would have given the project 5 stars except for the issues with the instructions.
I recently purchased the Desert Cactus Mosaic kit. It will be beautiful when I finish it (only halfway done). The yarn is a good weight for afghans and is easy to work with. Unfortunately, the pattern has caused me no end of problems. There are several mistakes in the pattern including one in the correction. I believe this one has now been fixed. I have been crocheting for 50 years and this is the is the first time I have considered hiding it unfinished in the back of a closet, even though I have made several mosaic afghans. But, I am stubborn and will not let this pattern defeat me!
I am absolutely in love with this pattern, amd love that it is available in a kit. I can't wait to start on this. Will have lots of down time while recovering from surgery.
Brianna's patterns are so well written and easy to understand and follow.
I love this pattern - it's beautiful. BUT... the directions were flawed and insufficient. Row 132 directions are incorrect. Don't know how many times I ripped that out and tried to re-do it, following the directions. The 2nd repeat instruction was wrong, but following the 1st repeat instruction worked. ALSO, even though my gauge was spot-on, I ran out of "Color A" (Cottonwood, Mary Maxim Starlette yarn) before the Simple Border was complete. And wouldn't you know; it's out of stock on the website. The tutorials on Briana K Designs website were somewhat helpful... but not comprehensive. Again, it's a lovely product, but I struggled with the instructions, and ran out of yarn.

I absolutely love the mosaic patterns. They’re simple but fun. You have to make sure you count your first row correctly or you’ll be frogging your work. The yarn is great. Shipping was great. Always happy with Mary Maxim kits. A beginner can do this.
