Designed by Nella's Cottage. This double stranded blanket and hat with a cute character will surely become a favorite. Kit includes worsted weight yarn, button eyes and pattern. Requires crochet hooks size 7 (4.5 mm) and M-13 (9 mm). Blanket size 32" x 32". Hat size 3 months. Intermediate Crochet.
Stitch Requirements: Chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, front post, back post.

I used one strand and the blanket came out great. A change in yarn would be recommended for a baby blanket as Caron is a bit rough. I didn't follow the pattern exactly, but I had a great time making the blanket! I made the pieces for the bear but decided not to use it. And I still have enough yarn to make another blanket.
Baby Bear Set
This pattern is pretty easy but does require some basic sewing skills to assemble and place the bear. I, too, received about 3 -4 times the yarn required. I used the double strand method, which some reviewers say they did not. It is very chunky. Not super soft as some complain, but good for a baby floor mat or to put over car seat or stroller. I did not make the hat as the yarn does not seem soft enough for that. I had to use youtube for better instructions on making a heart shape. I am, however, very pleased with the cute result.

I liked the pattern and it came out pretty but I only used 1 strand at a time. It was too difficult to complete the stitches with the stiff scratchy yarn that came with kit. Maybe a different yarn would have been better.

Would like to update my earlier review of this item. Thought item was overpriced but managed to get it on sale and with a coupon I had so it was $55 so I bought it. When I received the kit I was shocked at how much wool came with it. Even doing double strands I was able to get 3 sets from wool. Amazing value and wool was great to work with. Kudos Mary maxim for such a great kit.

Love the pattern, even if very over-priced. Opted for single strand because of the yarn. The yarn is the reason for only 3 stars. Do not like the stiff, scratchy yarn, especially for a baby/ infant. Better yarn, higher rating!
You can buy this blanket from creator already made for less than the kit.
I gave it three stars because of the yarn quality. Considering that it's for a baby, the yarn is not soft and a better quality yarn could be used. I also didn't like using two strands and opted for a single strand. The pattern is easy to understand.
