First, I have to say that I love Crystal and everything she does and am a big fan. That said, I did have some difficulty getting the gauge right for this pattern. I used the recommended 5.5mm hook to start and did a quick check of my stitches per inch when I started and it was within a stitch or so of the recommended gauge, but I failed to check my row gauge. This is COMPLETELY my fault and take full responsibility.
As I continued, I knew it was going to be small, but kept going. It was only after I finished the body and the first sleeve that I realized just how tiny it was. So...I ripped it back completely and did a gauge swatch, for real this time. I ended up needing a 7mm to match gauge and finished the sweater.
That said, it's exactly as advertised and a really easy pattern. No complaints there.
As for the Tonal Hues yarn, it's quite soft but several of my balls had more than 3 knots, tied in the middle of a completely different gradient color, sometimes running backward from where I was. Also, two skeins had patches of undyed bright white yarn, which had to be cut out. Quality control of the yarn could use some attention.
Overall, I'd recommend the pattern with the above caveats, but probably won't purchase the yarn again.
I love this yarn! The color changes are very subtle which makes the transitions very smooth. It is also soft & makes crocheting with it enjoyable.
The pattern is intermediate. I haven't finished it yet, but it would be helpful if the pattern included some example pictures or a video tutorial as I am concerned about understanding some of the construction as I have not made a cardigan before. If you like a challenge, I would definitely recommend this kit!

Cardigan runs small in size. Pattern very easy to follow. Was fun to make. Yarn didn't split, glided over crochet hook well.
I love the yarn- very smooth and drapes well. My issue
Is with the sizing - the sizing runs very small. I normally knit/crochet a size large for cardigans and they fit very well. This time I went with the 2X size and it barely fits me. I had used a larger crochet hook to ensure my tension was correct as well.
I suggest that the creator recheck the pattern to make sure it is accurate. Then I think the corrected pattern should be made available to everyone who has purchased to-date.
The Bag O'Day Tonal yarn is absolutely gorgeous & oh so soft. Will be starting this sweater in a day or two for my youngest son.
I took off a star because the measurements are letter sizes only, not in inches. Fortunately, the written pattern indicates it runs big, so it should fit him well.
