Textured Baby Blanket

I really enjoyed knitting this blanket. I found that the instructions were good and the light grey and white combination looks great.

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE YARN COLOUR. I chose the kit with white and pink. When the yarn is in the ball the pink is obvious but when you lay the strand of white next to the pink it is VERY DIFFICULT to distinguish between them even under a very strong light. This makes it difficult to distinguish between yarns when knitting and the blanket looks almost completely white. The photo on the pattern is very misleading when it comes to the photo using the soft pink as the photo makes the blanket look very pink. A darker shade of pink is needed, at least enough so it is easy to distinguish between the white and pink. However, the pattern is nice - the problem is the faint colour pink in the yarn.

I would like to have had more of a difference in colour between the white and pink yarns. It was difficult to tell the difference between the strands.
Top Border Row #7 is written incorrectly. The written directions cause too many stitches to be increased. It is a good thing the number of stitches there were to be at the end of the row was listed. I followed the directions and had TOO many stitches, so had to rip out the row, an figure out how to achieve the listed number of stitches.

Very cute pattern and easy too. I agree that the colored yarn is pretty close to the white but when completed can easily see the pink, blue, etc. I have completed 3 different kits and will have enough left over yarn to make another blanket! I also like that there are no holes in the pattern where little fingers could get caught.

I have never written a poor review for a Mary Maxim product before but this kit is not as expected at all. There is not enough contrast in the color of the yarn to see if it has any pink in it. Extremely difficult to see what yarn you are using. Why couldn't you have put in a wee bit darker pink for it to show up? It doesn't look like the picture at all.

I have’t finished knitting this cute blanket yet, but it’s turning out great. I’m not an experience knitter by no means, but I was able to figure out the this pattern.

This baby blanket is absolutely beautiful. The pattern was wavy to follow and the yarn is gorgeous.

I enjoyed this pattern and plan on knitting it again someday with a different color. The yarn is soft and I'm eager to use it again in other Mary Maxim kits. I did this blanket in pink and white. Plenty of yarn was provided to complete this project. The body was, to me, an easy 8 row repeat. I was able to watch TV while knitting this and not make mistakes. Three sides of the border is the process of picking up stitches. YouTube videos helped me to learn this process. Once the stitches are picked up then it's an easy Rib pattern. The sides of the border are sewn together to make the corners. I did not do this well. But, my novice attempt didn't take away from the beauty of the blanket.

The picture does not do this blanket justice. You can't see the fabulous texture making this in two colors provides. The pattern is easy yet keeps your interest. The edging is a bit tricky but once you get it, it provides a great finish to a great project. I had a lot of fun making this one. I love the finish product so much I am having trouble parting with it (LOL)!

I made this afghan in the baby blue and white. Much prettier in person. Knitted it on a recent cruise and so many stopped to look at it. Knitting takes a lot longer but it does make a beautiful blanket.
