Need better quality yarn

Loved this blanket, but the quality of the yarn left a lot to be desired. Yarn kept splitting.

Hi Brenda, thank you for your feedback. If there is anything we can help you with please contact customer service at 800-962-9504 or by email at info@marymaxim.com

I'm fairly experienced with crochet

I'm fairly experienced with crochet and I've found this blanket quite difficult. The substitute wool did not quite match the tension of the rest of the product. If this hadn't been a Christmas gift I would have preferred to wait for the recommended wool to be back in stock.

Beautiful & easy, but you must follow all directions. I enjoy working on this, but do recommend working at a table with all your yarn bobbins. This is not one to do in front of the tv.

Adorable

This was my first crotchet project with the pattern and multiple colours...I have done only 2 shawls in the past to learn to crochet. I was little bit scared when I started the project but it was relatively easy to make. I did end up enlarging the pattern to see better....it turned out very nice. Still need to finish the border :-) and I am buying another kit for sure. It makes a perfect gift.

Making Friends

I’m about 3/4 of the way through this. I’ve enjoyed so much. There’ll be lots of sewing in at the end. This is a nice project to start on for Someone that would like more of a challenge. And the there are lots of people that like the neutral tone. Live this project ️

Absolutely adorable

I am an avid graph crochet Er so they all appear pretty simple to me. But for those not used to these, there is NO row by row directions. You follow rows on chart and each box is a stitch. Once you get the hang of working with bobbins, your hooked. 90% of my work is graphghan blankets now.

I think the directions should be better from the beginning on how to handle all of the color changes. I have become frustrated many times and have now stopped the project.

Making Friends Blanket

This is the first time I have crocheted a design on a blanket using this method. The instructions were easy to follow. The pattern uses mostly a single crochet stitch, with some double crochet for the edging. The instructions tell you how to change colors from both the right and wrong side. There is minimal carrying of colors (tapestry crochet) as the instructions tell you to use a new ball or bobbin if the same color picks up in a new area later on in the row you are working on. It took me a couple of weeks to complete my blanket. I was very happy with the result.

No customer service

I purchased this before Black Friday or cyber Monday. I called to see if they would honor the sale, and was told they would call me back. I would have re-ordered and returned what I had but was given assurance I would get a call back. I didn’t. I called again, same thing. It was about $17+ difference in price. No call back. So they don’t care about repeat business or what their word stands for. If it wasn’t a gift I would have returned it and never ordered again. Good luck.

Excellent graph and yarn kit. Not suggested for any crocheted who doesn’t know how to do graph work. No written directions but mine came out awesome!
