Plastic canvas is a variation of traditional needlepoint and is used to create decorative 3D designs. Today we are going to talk about 2 of the most common stitches used in needlepoint, what they are used for, and how to do them! The 2 basic stitches we will be talking about today are half cross and overcast.
Half Cross stitch
Half cross stitch is exactly as it sounds- half of a cross stitch, making a diagonal stitch. This stitch is most commonly used in horizontal rows. Half cross stitch uses less yarn than the Continental stitch due to the fact it does not cover the back of your canvas.
