Week Six already? This crochet- along is flying by! Only one more week and we will take a break on squares for a week and start working on borders for the squares we have done so we aren't left with all of that for the end. If you are new to the crochet-along, all previous weeks can be found
here. This week we will be working with our Color 2, which is Natural for our example blanket, but as we have said before, you can use whichever color you would like. Enjoy!
SQUARE 19
Ch 26 loosely
Row 1: Sc in 2
nd ch from hook and in each ch to end, turn – 25 sc
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc to end, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, *
insert hook in sc below next sc and pull up a loop even with hook, yo and draw through both loops on hook –
Long sc made, sc in next sc; rep from *to end, turn – 25 sts.
Row 4: Ch 1, work Long sc in sc below first sc, *sc in next sc, Long sc in sc below next sc; rep from * to end, turn.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until square measures 7” fasten off
SQUARE 20
Ch 32 loosely
Row 1: Sc in 8
th ch from hook, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, sc in next ch, *ch 4, skip next 2 ch, sc in next ch, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from *to last 3 ch, ch 2, hdc in last ch to from last loop, turn – 9 loops
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first loop, *4 dc in next loop, sc in next loop; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 3: Ch 4, sc in first dc, ch 2, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc, *ch 4 sc in next dc, ch 2, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc; rep from * to last sc, ch 2, hdc in last sc to form last loop, turn – 9 loops
Repeat Rows 2-3 until square measures 7” fasten off.
SQUARE 21
Ch 28 loosely
Row 1: (Dc, ch 1, dc) in 5 th ch from hook –
V-st made, *skip next 2 ch, V-st in next ch; rep from * to last 2 ch, dc in last ch, turn – 8 V-sts
Row 2: Ch 3, work V-st in each ch-1 sp across, dc in top of beg ch, turn.
Repeat the last row until square measures 7” fasten off.

*There was an error on Square 19. The amount to chain was incorrect and the long sc had a duplicate instruction. Thank you all for having patience with me regarding this. I am not here 5 days a week, some times there will be a delay in response. Thank you so much for participating in our very first CAL. There will be some bumps and there is a learning curve to this, Thank you for helping us along the way!!

It says week 7 , we are working on borders?!?!?! What are we doing????
Next week we are going to begin the edging on the completed squares :) This week are the squares that are shown. We only mentioned that so if anyone was in a panic that they were behind they knew they had a “recovery week” to catch up.

Yes this square is very dense, very very dense. I was hoping that switching hook size would have made it less dense but it still has the same density but exceeded the gauge. We have to keep within the proper gauge so that assembly will be easy.

It is the correct photo, and there was a typo, it is all corrected now.

Paulette, mine is coming out very dense too. The sample shows straight rows with some space between, I would like to have that look. Hope they check these comments soon and provide answers, leaving this square unfinished in the meantime.

I don’t understand Line 3, it says *insert hook in sc below next sc and pull up a loop even with hook, yo and draw through both loops on hook, yo and draw through both loops on hook – Once I draw through both loops on the hook once, there are not two more to draw through? Are there? So I have been doing it once, but my square does not look like the photo, so I am taking another break from it, not my favorite week. Gauges are challenging this week on the other squares, for me, but at least I knew I was doing those two correctly. Been fun till now, and will be again I am sure.
Carol, I am having the same issue with the draw thru 2 loops twice line. There are not two loops left after you take off the first two. I finally went ahead and made mine with just taking off the first two loops and ignoring the 2nd set of loops. Mine does not look like the picture, but it is pretty as it is.
Kendra, is there a place we can contact you to get clarification on these issues? We seem to have to help each other with no help from the author — I for one would appreciate your assistance. Thank you, Judi in Phoenix
Thank you Judy, I guess they made a typo when they repeated that last part of the instructions. But I do wish I could have mine look like their sample, mine is nothing like it, and I stopped after a few inches. Wondering now if they posted the wrong photo. Wish they would check on us now and then.
