Just wrote a review about Bug Twist twinkle yarn. Used the word sparkle in reference instead of Twinkle. So sorry,but it definitely is “sparkly”👍
Recently purchased 4 skeins of Big Twist Sparkle yarn. My granddaughter’s favorite color is purple,so got 2purple and 2 white. Made her a small throw blanket for college and it turned out very “ sparkly”. Had a little trouble with the thin thread of sparkles, but after using it, I would definitely purchase it again. There were even washing instructions in the info. Machine wash, lay flat to dry. Very helpful. Thanks again, Mary Maxim! Very satisfied,as usual.

San wood needles feel like luxury needles but are affordable. They are smooth and warm with points that are just right, neither too sharp nor too blunt. They are a pleasure to knit with.

I love to crochet, I love hummingbirds. What could be better. I have not tried mosaic crochet with color changes in the rows. For me this is a new challenge. I do have to say that although I have not completed this project, I have found that there is a mistake in the written pattern in row 25. (I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed yet. I did buy this kit approximately 3 years ago)
In row 25, the written pattern states fldc below in next 39 st, that part should be fldc in next 42 st.
I'm not sure if there are any other errors but in any case, I am thrilled with the afghan kit and enjoying the new technique.

I really love the design, but the directions are not so great. I have been crocheting for 60+ years. Never had I had to frog so many times. I finally gave up and restarted with the Rio blanket pattern and added some of my own touches. I had to order a couple more skeins of the prisms, but it was worth it in the long run. So it was a great inspiration.

The yarn is lovely. But I’m not sure it will stay that way if I have to keep frogging it. The pattern is a mess.I only got to row 11 and can’t tell what to do next. I will be calling the number to get some assistance. Probably more than once.

I have been crocheting for over 40 years and this was the worst pattern I have ever worked with. The directions were so confusing, with multiple errors. I had to rip out so rows, the yarn was fuzzy and sometimes damaged beyond being of use. After row 12 I had to come up with my own pattern to finish this. I finally did finish it and it was beautiful but NEVER AGAIN!

Not happy with yarn nor pattern. Yarn is flimsy hill, piles and comes apart. Pattern is hard to follow and has mistakes in it. Cannot recommend it.

I have found the pattern very confusing. Got to round 12 and couldn't understand what I was supposed to do. After the 4 th try I decided to just wing it. The yarn is glorious so I will just continue on, making it up as I go.

This pattern is not written correctly. My prior review was removed, but I see I'm not the only one complaining about this. Mary Maxim needs to address this problem.

I was so looking forward to making this pretty blanket but it ended up causing me a lot of anguish. Someone needs to re-write this pattern and correct it. It’s a mess!!! I’m going to find something else to use this yarn for. I would never be able to enjoy it with this type of experience. You should really stop selling this until you’re certain that it’s accurate. And as far as support….no there really isn’t. Not unless you have days to wait on answers. I’m very sorry I bought this. I’m not sure what has become of Mary Maxim. For a company that is so trusted, it boggles my mind how you could sell this defective pattern.
I love this afghan! Since there are no babies in the family right now, I will use it on my porch swing, late spring to mid Fall. Clear pattern instruction; lovely yarn.
Was this pattern actually ever tested? I am 72 years old and learned to crochet when I was nine, so I consider myself pretty experienced, and this pattern had so many mistakes I will NEVER order another kit or pattern from Mary Maxim.

There isn't another yarn quite like prism, this project definitely wouldn't look or be the same without it. We've used Prism for baby items in the past and have had great success. We understand that prism may not be your first choice for a baby blanket and there may be other yarns that have qualities desirable for a baby blanket. I love Prism yarn and have made several scarves with it and they have all turned out gorgeous. That is why I was looking forward to making something a bit different and thought this afghan looked amazing. However, once I started the project, it became clear to me that perhaps Prism wasn’t the best choice. I think it needs a heavier weight yarn to do it justice and that brings me to the pattern. I’ve been crocheting for 50+ years and the instructions proved to be harder to understand than they needed to be (at least for me). This led to multiple attempts to obtain the correct stitch count and I was having to redo rows way more than I wanted to. As I stated, I love Prism yarn and its range of colors, but it is challenging and frustrating to pull out because it tangles easily. At any rate, I could probably wear the finished afghan as a shawl and it would look nice but it is NOT an appropriate baby afghan IMHO. I used the rain shower/lavender colorway and I’ll try to attach a picture…if I can (I’m severely technologically challenged). All-in-all this was not a fun project for me to make and I wasn’t satisfied with the end result. I wish I had just used the yarn to make another scarf.
