Manta de abuela texturizada

A couple of the skeins of yarn had some bad places. Had to cut and remove small sections. Loved the colors and otherwise ok.

I have been trying to make mine look like the picture of this textured granny blanket. But I have tried several times and come close but mine does not look like the pattern. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

This pattern worked up beautifully! Made it as a gift for my granddaughter, now I’m going to order another in a different color for my sofa.

I absolutely love this yarn and pattern.

The variation in the thickness of the yarn is disconcerting and adds nothing to the finished piece.

I'm making baby blankets for future great grandchildren, sexes unknown. Mary Maxim has great kits. The colors in this blanket ( prism seascape) are muted and should work up well. The yarn is baby soft and is a good baby weight. I have yet to make this blanket, but my past experience with Mary Maxim gives me confidence all will work out satisfactory.

Enjoyed making this. Yarn had beautiful color but did get too thin at times. I will make this again.

This kit has the worst yarn. Every skein went from normal, to very thin, to a bulky (unspun) yarn. I'm very disappointed with this yarn. I'll never purchase it again.

Turned out very pretty. I thought the size was a little small. The yarn itself is fragile & can easily knot. I ordered extra yarn to make it bigger for a toddler.

Just as described and easy to do. I like watching it grow as I work on it.

I was stumped on the pattern. Couldn't find any help on the internet. I kept thinking I needed to make a video for the next person. After a lot of trial and error I figured out and it was fun to work on. The yarn in the kit was very uneven in thickness. Some places would be very bulky and then very thin. I'll make another with a different brand of yarn.

I bought this kit a couple months ago when they had a sale on the included yarn which put it at almost half price. The pattern looked really neat and the yarn was pretty from what I could see in the pictures.

The pros: the yarn is soft and the color is actually very pretty and the pattern is pretty unique looking (combination of backpost, puff, and shell stitches).

The cons: the yarn is not evenly spun, going from crochet thread width up to completely unspun (bulky) width, which means there's no way for your stitches to be consistent; the way the yarn is spooled makes it very difficult to pull from easily and tangles incredibly easily; there's no stretch to the pattern (or yarn) so the afghan doesn't work up quite square the way it's indicated it should be.

I can't tell if I've done something completely wrong or not, but the kit came with 6 balls of yarn and having just finished the second ball, my project is almost complete (being just over 2'x2' with a finished size of 3'x3'). On the upside I guess that means I can make another blanket later?

The beginning of the first few rows i misread after that it was easy. The layout of the picture reminds me of a heart but the pattern states otherwise. The picture showing the center of the pattern is on the wrong side

I was all ready to order this project until I read the yarn care instructions. I NEVER make a baby afghan out of yarn that needs to be hand washed and laid flat to dry. New mothers just don't have the time for that kind of care. Would love to get the pattern without this yarn and make in a machine washable yarn!

I agree with some others, that the very beginning of the pattern was a little tricky and confusing, but once I worked it out, the rest was quite easy. This is one of the most unique and beautiful patterns that I have ever seen. I worked it up in the blue colorway and am just looking for a reason to do another! Highly recommend it!

I bought this textured blanket set and I am not a novice crocheter either. I gave up after 10 tries and ended up using another pattern to use the yarn. I wish too there was a video showing the first 6 steps

I just received this kit last night and for the life of me I can not figure out the pattern. I am not a novice but this is unbelievably frustrating. I have been on other forums where the feedback is the same for this pattern. Will give it one more try tonight and then move on to a different pattern I can use the yarn for. Perhaps someone can come up with a youtube video for the first six rows? Just beware --------this is not for the faint of heart

Found it difficult to get started. Had to retry a couple of times but omce I figured it out I just love how this looks. Prism is a little difficult to unravel but I love the colour variations.

I have been crocheting for 45 years and learned a new stitch with this pattern. When I got it I had never heard of fptr and tried to find out what it meant. No luck in any of the books I had. So I went on the internet and thank God for u-tube found a demonstration of how to do it. Once I saw the demonstration it was very easy to do. I finished it in about a month and loved the color Rain shower. Now my great niece of nephew will have a beautiful blanket to go home from the hospital in.

This baby afghan works up fast and easy. As one reviewer said once you get past the first few rows, it's straightforward. The varying thickness of the yarn was sometimes concerning. I noticed that in some of the thick parts of the yarn the yarn was VERY weak and I could just pull it apart. In these areas, I broke the yarn on purpose and attached stable portions of yarn together and continued. The yarn is beautiful though. The colors are wonderful. Nice and bright.

Very eye-catching pattern and the color is beautiful. I rated the price low, because I will have to buy another skein to complete the project to the correct size. I have been crocheting for 35 years, I always check my gauge and it was correct. If you order, you may want to order an extra skein as a precaution.

The first few rows are a bit challenging but easy to follow if you read the directions carefully. The remaining rows are an easy repeat pattern. This Blanket has to be the most beautiful I've made in a long time. Will be ordering another kit this weekend.

I too, had difficulty following this pattern and the material does not allow for repeated unravelling and re-trys. Fortunately, I had ordered another kit at the same time (Bavarian Lullaby Throw) and it included a detailed "how to" for Bavarian crochet with great pictures and perfectly detailed general instructions. I worked with some scrap material for practice and am now ready to take on both projects with the Prism.

I love crocheting and loved the beautiful colors in this kit. I'm buying my second kit.

I am thinking of ordering this kit and a new Aidi hook so want to have the best size hook for this project.. Thank you for any help... (MM) The hook size required for this kit is 4.5mm.

loved the yarn . Wish I could do all the yarn colors, worked up fast and easy. The yarn adds several dimensions to it makes it look wonderful.
