I've enjoyed working on this baby afghan. I like the yellow as the main color since it's a good color either a boy or girl. The yarn has a nice feel and crochets up nice. The pattern for the most part was easy. However I had to adjust a couple of things. Row 23: should be repeat Row 9 instead of Row 3 (do to stitch count). Also the repeat rows 13-26 for pattern six times more. I only had enough yellow to do 5 repeats. Then Row 3 of the Border the repeat for in between the corners (sc in next ch-5sp, 5 dc in next ch-sp) it didn't look right so I looked at the picture and it shows 7 dc, which looks much better. I still plan to make another one in a different color. It's a nice blanket & it will work for a baby's car seat.

Holding 3 strands of yarn together isn't as easy as it sounds. Even if you separate each ball and put each ball in a holder, bags, etc. I found a much easier solution and no tangling of the yarn. Combine 3 strands together and wind into one large ball; knitting goes faster and no problem with tangling.

This was fun and the yarn quality is excellent. I did double the stars and put on both sides to cover my stitches.
I learned something while building this Afghan. After finishing the block or color where the applique will be placed, go ahead and place these where you want them to go. Otherwise, you will have twice or three times the material to deal with when attaching the applique to the area. Or in some cases, sewing parts of the blanket that were not supposed to be there, I had to undo several stiches several times because of this issue. I learned my lesson. I made this for my mom. It was a last minute gift, and thought that I would have it done in 2 weeks. It was close, and hence why my star placement isn't what it should be. Even though I didn't get them perfect, my mother loved it. I was a bit embarrassed, but she said it gave it character.
I had plenty left of all three colors, so I gave it a border in blue, I should have switched to red border when crossing the blue stipe, but again, I was in a hurry. Instructions were easy to read. This is my 4th kit to finish. - Sorry for the low quality picture. My mom still has a flip phone camera.

Didn't care for the yarn
Yarn was nice to work with but when laundered according to yarn instructions, the red yarn bled so badly that afghan is now red, pink and blue. Very disappointing. I've never had an acrylic yarn bleed like this before.
