Manta de ganchillo de colibríes felices

I absolutely like this pattern but I was very disappointed with the kit I received. I checked my gauge with the cream yarn and about 4 inches into the pattern I realized that because the blue yarn was much finer than the other yarn my blanket was turning out smaller than it should be. The blue was a substitute. The cream yarn was Caron 16 oz 812 yards. The blue was lion brand 16 oz. 1020 yards. That’s a pretty big difference. Finished size should have been 53”x65”. Mine is 49”x60”. You can see through the blue yarn but not the other colours. Kinda disappointed in my finished blanket.

This does include some different stitches. The pattern includes instructions so you can complete this afghan .

Enjoyed doing the pattern, but was disappointed with the quality of the blue yarn, it was thinner than the other yarn. Also, I think the border should have had a different hook size? because the pattern was tighter and even made it more so with the thinner blue yarn.

It was fun to crochet. I love the challenge. . .

Directions are hard to follow

I was a bit intimidated by this afghan. It's beautiful, but I just wasn't sure if my crochet abilities would be up for this challenge. I've never tried mosaic overlay. When I received it and saw the instruction booklet, I was even less sure. I shouldn't have worried. The designer is very thorough and includes a colored graph at the end which has been what I started using after a few rows. Cyndie, the designer, also has some QR codes to scan and get tips. I was glad I had done a few small graphgans. This helps with cleaner looking color changes. I have also found that using a ruler placed above the row (in my case a folded up piece of paper that I can paper clip to the side of the page and move up with each completed row) really helps. I also use a small scrap of paper that I can move across the row to help me keep my place. Taking each row as it comes keeps me from feeling overwhelmed. Only two stitches are used: back loop single crochet (blsc) and front loop double crochet (fldc). You alternate rows between blue and off white. After each row you end the color and start back with the alternate color always working on the front of the afghan.
One other tip, I've also started using stitch markers to mark where I start on the next page of the graph. I found this works better for me than placing a marker every 25 stitches or so.
If you love the afghan, I think you will be pleased with how easy it is to work. Don't feel intimidated and decide it's not for you. You can do it!
I hope my comments help you to feel better about ordering this beautiful afghan. This one will be a keeper for me!

Very pretty for bird lovers.

I am going to make this for my daughter but have not started it yet. The instructions look very good but a little bit to lengthy but more is better I assume. I, personally, like to watch videos of the stitches being done so I went to the internet and found some. I am very excited to start on this project. I feel it will be a bit challenging for me but I like a challenge.

I am very happy with the blanket. Mosaic is becoming my favorite.
