This looks like it will be awesome.

The black yarn was substituted and was of a different weight. Other people may not notice, but it was disappointing. Following the chart and untangling all the different skeins was a big challenge, but I hung in there and completed the afghan. The finished product is beautiful and will be an heirloom piece.

While the chart is easy to follow, I am not experienced with controlling multiple strands of wool, so am constantly spending time to untangle, which limits how much time I am willing to work on the project at any one sitting.

All the yarn was substituted. Don’t know if that made a difference. The chart was tiny and hard for me to mark as done or follow. Had to use the smallest crochet hook I was comfortable using to even come close to the gauge. Had to do research on how to use bobbins . I carried over a lot but still had enough yarn to finish. Could use a lot more detailed instruction and I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years.

Instructions are good for this complex pattern.
One of the yarns colors was out of stock, so they substituted it with a different weight than the rest of the afghan. You can tell the difference, but I can live with it.

Working on this for a Xmas present. Very excited to see it coming together. Shipping is always fast and products are great quality. I had a friend buy one after she saw mine! Now we work on this together.

This will be a very luxurious throw and suits us well

It was a little disappointing to find you sent a substitute yarn, available at my local Walmart for only $5.27 a ball, after I paid for Mary Maxim products. Although the kit was on sale, the actual yarn cost would have been so low that just the paper pattern cost me over $20!
It is a design both hubby & I admired for a long time so it will be his Christmas gift this year. I am hoping the weather will cool off enough in time for me to finish it.
It does require prior knowledge or internet research in working with colours as very the pattern itself gives little instruction.

I love this kit. Worked up beautifully.

I haven't finished it yet but it looks amazing! The pattern is intricate but fairly easy to follow. Since I live in northern WI it will be a nice accent to my decor.

Always love working Mary Maxim afghan kits! They are sometimes challenging, but always worth it!

The pattern is beautiful. I ended up writing down the pattern as opposed to counting squares. The black yarn provided in the kit was flimsy and the strands separated quite easily. I ended up having to use my own black yarn.

This is my 2nd afghan kit I've ordered from Mary Maxim. The first was a buffalo plaid deer afghan. It turned out beautiful. I ordered this kit the first time I saw it, and it was on sale!!! I'm so excited to make it!!!

This is a basic colorwork afghan. Simple single crochet with graph. Will make a great gift.
