Cárdigan Wish Upon A Star

I bought the natural/teal, the pattern is quite easy, it is so well written and there is a video to accompany it. I must say I would have been hard pressed to mess it up ;) a great pattern for beginners.
I do find the yarn a bit scratchy (that’s a me problem), I will just wear long sleeves. I will definitely be making this again!

Sadly not a fan of this pattern. I'm pretty experienced in crochet, including mosaic crochet, and specifically the interlocking technique used here. I purchased the kit for size L/XL with the plan to make size XL. My expectation from pictures was a softly draping cardigan that falls to about mid thigh.

However, despite hitting the correct gauge (4mm hook), and the exact measurements as described in the pattern, the fit in the XL is wildly off. It's too wide in the body, with bunching of fabric under the arms, and far too short in length. The completed cardigan doesn't actually fully cover my bottom. Not what I expected at all. Notably, all yarn A from the kit was used, so there was no way of resolving this. Unfortunately too, with this particular 'beginner friendly' type construction, it was necessary to sew the sleeves and begin the mosaic in order to 'try' the cardigan on. It's at this time I realised the pattern's proportions were completely off. Any correction would have required frogging nearly all of my work. Annoyed, I continued. This resulted in a cardigan that is boxy and short. Super unflattering, and very disappointing for the money spent! It will never be worn.

I'd like to mention too, that despite the beginner friendly construction, I cannot recommend this pattern for beginners. The video tutorial provided with the pattern is incomplete. There are no video instructions included for the mosaic part of the pattern!! Just completely skips it! Just wanted to warn folks!

Im very disappointed with the pattern. The video seems to be the same as a comment from just about a year ago. The pattern goes off for me at row 7. The video should show more of the mosaic pattern and less of the straight forward pattern. Spent a lot of money for the pattern n wool, not a happy customer right now

This is a beautiful sweater but the instructions are not clear at all for the mosaic part which it the difficult part. The chart that’s in the pattern are not clear! . I went to the video for help when she came to the mosaic part she jumps from row 7 to the end which is not helpful at all. I would not recommend this pattern until it is clearly written. There seems to be a lot of assumptions!
