My mother started me on plastic canvas and Mary Maxim. Many years ago ( 30 or more) she made for me the tulip tissue box with butterflies. It was beautiful. I wish I could get my hands on another one of those. I’ve been using only Mary Maxim ever since. The yarn is perfect for each individual project. And beautiful too. I haven’t done it for a few years but planning on starting again with the kit that I just ordered.
I changed the colors with my own yarn and it turned out beautiful!
as a beginner of first time trying the project, the instructions are not really clear enough to a beginner regarding cutting the plastic part before starting the project

I have been crafting for years so I do not waste yarn. However, I ran out of both shades of yellow, the leaf green and the darker pink. Thankfully I realized I was running short so I kept it to one side of the tissue box.

I enjoyed making this kit. The needle eye was too small for yarn. I had a larger needle that did the job. I prefer to cut my own canvas which saves plenty to create more projects from book designs. Not a big fan of French knots but they look nice on finished box.
The kit is ok, but I would think they should either cut the plastic for you or tell you in wors what the dimensions are instead of making you count them on a graph
