Super soft!! Great for cardigans!
It's very soft, has great drape and movement. I love the slight shine. It appears to be right a good representation of a 4 weight. It is pretty nice to crochet with. My only reason for not giving 5 stars ( because half stars wasn't an option) is because it is TERRIBLE when frogging!!! I had to break out my scissors and cut all the fuzziness. I haven't washed it yet but I definitely would recommend hand washing ONLY
DEEP Teal color way off from picture. That is the reason for only a 3 star rating. It looks nothing like the teal shown. It looks more like a light navy color with a hint or undertone shade of teal. It Is a pretty color and I am going to use it. Just BEWARE IF you are looking for a true teal color this is NOT it. The yarn itself is nice and soft with a nice sheen, feels really good, kind of like Caron simply soft, BUT as others have said is more like a DK 3 weight yarn (WHICH IS WHAT I NEEDED) so it was true to others reviews. Overall nice yarn, pretty color but NOT what I though I was getting or what was advertised.

I loved the crochet kit so much that I bought more yarn to make 2 more afghans! The yarn is so easy to work with and with this pattern, it is the right weight for an elegant afghan.

I haven't gotten a chance to use this yarn yet. I bought it to create some afghans because of all the gorgeous colors it comes in. When it arrived I was so excited to find that it's like one of my favorite inexpensive yarns from Premier (Ever Soft) without the sheen. I cannot wait to use it! As soon as I'm done with these graphgans I'll make the 5 blankets and post them here! Yay, it's so awesome when you find a gem like this. The pictures are of what I'm going to make. One of which is a knitted design and I'm a crocheter, lol. I'll create an identical design.
The only thing I am having trouble with it is to find the beginning of the yarn .
I really like this yarn. I crocheted an afghan pattern that has a lot of textured stitches. It came out very nice with nicely defined texture. Also it pulled out of the skein without tangling and was evenly wound, with few knots.
I love working with plastic canvas projects but find that some yarns will Frey or snag alot no matter how smooth I try to trim my pieces of canvas. But this medium wt yarn works beautifully! I have purchased numerous skeins of Mary Maxim yarns in a variety of colors and find that The Caron Simply Soft yarns are excellent too.

I got 2 skeins each in Deep Teal, Rich Red and Cottonwood. The colors are pretty with a light sheen and very soft. It's really nice to crochet with. I'm going to surprise my daughter with scarves when she visits from Georgia. She doesn't crochet so I try to keep her in throws and scarves plus blankets for her fur babies. I'm new to Mary Maxim, this will be my 2nd order for yarns, I can say I'm happy with my purchases.

Worked up beautifully on my crocheted hooded sweater.
Not bad to work with and the colour is nice
Not sure if I just got a bad batch of yarn but both the Merlot and the Cottonwood have knots and uneven twists through the skeins. Makes it hard to complete my project. Not the quality I'm used to from my favorite store.
