This kit looked wonderful, but I can't make it work. To meet gauge for this pattern, I had to drop down to a 3.75 mm hook which made the Prism yarn nearly impossible to frog (and as an advanced beginner, there is usually frogging involved). It has a lovely feel and the colors are gorgeous, but the fuzzy quality of the yarn makes it stick to itself like Velcro. I'll save the pattern for another time and will have to find another use for all this yarn. It seems to work fine with a 5 mm hook.
The Surfside-color yarn I wanted for this project wasn't available at the time of purchase, so I figured I'd try Macaw and see how it worked up. The design is clever and the result eye-catching, and I'll certainly make this cardigan again with Surfside. The written pattern was clear and included a link to a video demonstration, and the kit included plenty of yarn. Overall, a creative pattern and a fun kit! :)
My first Mary Maxim kit. It includes everything I needed (yarn and written pattern) to get started. I had been eyeballing this project for a while and I am so glad I got it. I have not yet started it but I can tell I am going to love it. The colors of the yarn were gorgeous and the yarn is very soft. The kit came in a bag with zipper, which I intend to reuse to organize future projects.
This was an easy pattern to follow, but the amounts of yarn needed to make my size were way to close to what was sent. Based on gauge for sure but any variation meant you ran out of yarn.
I never expected this sweater to come out as beautiful as it is. I am a knitter, not a crocheter so I needed help from friends. It was fast and gorgeous! Can't wait for next winter to wear it.
