The Vintage Wallpaper Throw is an easy and fun

The Vintage Wallpaper Throw is an easy and fun project! I loved crocheting this throw and took it everywhere. People would come up to me and ask me about it and want to touch the yarn which is very soft. Of course I had to excitedly tell them all about Bag O Day and her easy tutorials! She does have a tutorial of this throw which I used a couple times for the border. I have never put a border on a blanket before. I love how quick and easy the half double crochet stitch is, it’s also my favorite stitch so far. This kit or the finished project would make a great gift! I will buy this again in other colors.

Add a little “Sparkle”

Recently purchased 4 skeins of Big Twist Sparkle yarn. My granddaughter’s favorite color is purple,so got 2purple and 2 white. Made her a small throw blanket for college and it turned out very “ sparkly”. Had a little trouble with the thin thread of sparkles, but after using it, I would definitely purchase it again. There were even washing instructions in the info. Machine wash, lay flat to dry. Very helpful. Thanks again, Mary Maxim! Very satisfied,as usual.

I’m having trouble with the first row

I’m having trouble with the first row. When it says dc2tog the description of that stitch it implies that the dc2tog goes in one stitch. Shouldn’t it be dc2tog in the next 2 chains 3 times?

Pattern has left something off at Row 1...Directions are wrong

So sad that the pattern has left something off. Other reviews are complaining about the same. Here is what I found....Row one wants you to DC in last chain, but then reading to the very end at the border directions:"now working in the unused loops of beg ch, 2 sc in first ch" etc... Nowhere in Row 1 directions do you leave unused chains!!!!This tells me that that Row 1 is wrong!!!! The yarn though is beautiful!!! Wish I had the correct directions.

Easy pattern

I have wanted this kit for 2 years, finally the stars aligned and I ordered it. I was a bit disappointed to find that the colors are bolder than pictured. I had wanted something paler. I ended up keeping it as it was Alpaca and I knew it would be warm. As one other reviewer mentioned, the yarn does split, but as I expected this having worked with this yarn before, I don't find it much of a problem. Just watch your stitches. Overall I like the pattern simple and easy to follow.

I found I am allergic to Alpaca yarn so I am doing this pattern with like acrylic yarn and it is turning out great. I love the pattern. I think when you put the products up on line you need to show what the yarn is that is in the package.

Proceed with caution

The alpaca yarn is wonderful and soft, and may "catch" easily with your hook and can take some getting used to!
However, the instructions need to be reviewed and edited for accuracy and clarity. I was able to compare with the photo and figure out what the pattern should have said, so I will be able to keep going from there. But a beginner may be frustrated.

No way to complete it as the pattern states.

The pattern does not work. I tried the first 5 rows numerous time. I asked for a tutorial but was unable to find it. I just can't get it to come out right and I tried and tried. Very disappointed.

Poor Communication

There is definitely a mistake in the pattern. I sent a message to Mary maxim, no reply. I called them up and was told that someone would get back to me, no follow up. I eventually figured it out after starting over several times. I have been a Mary Maxim customer for over 50 years. Not anymore.
