My first mosaic. Love it! The kit is wonderful and I like the yarn included.

Enjoying the process of building this Afghan. The yarn is easy to work with, and the instructions are easy to follow. I’m loving the effect as I create each row. This is my first time with this type of crochet project and I am glad to learn this technique.

I crochet a lot, but this might be my favorite blanket I've ever made! It's my first mosaic, and the instruction booklet (with both options of the written and graph pattern), made it easy to learn. The prism colors are beautiful and it's great to work with. I'm so happy with this pattern and the finished work!

Love this kit! Though new to the Scholach technique, the instructions and video references were excellent and easy to follow. I think that my gauge was not quite right because I had to order extra yarn to finish. I used the Westwinds color and have attached a photo.

Mosaic crochet is my favorite type of crochet, and this pattern by Abi McIntyre tops my list as one of the best! Easy to follow instructions,both written in words and also graph style. Plus an overall diagram of the whole pattern to refer to, if you suspect you have made a mistake.
As far as the yarn choices go, I would say that ombre colors, are awesome in the soft Prism yarn. But if you do make a mistake and want to unravel some of your work, good luck with unraveling Prism yarn! The Best Value yarn is a nice, soft yarn to work with but does have a tendency to split apart at times. Once knowing the quirks of the yarn included with this kit, I am enjoying every minute I work on it. I can easily say that I would do this afghan again.

Excited to have the main body of the afghan done but there is not enough Aran yarn to make the border.

I have crocheted for 50 years but had never heard of mosaic crochet. This kit intriqued me when I saw it in the catalog. Then I saw it on you tube as an actual kit and was enamored. I finally decided to try it not knowing if I could do it or not as it looked very complicated as a finished product. I am finding that using the graph rather than the written instructions is very easy! I'm surprised at how quickly I caught on to the process - I made a few mistakes in the first couple of rows while learning. Now I'm hooked - I am really enjoying making the afghan - it's fun watching your stitches turn into a design and way easier than I expected. If you are an intermediate crocheter, give it a go. The kit includes a link to a YouTube video that shows how to work the stitches.

The quality of the yarn is great but once I started working the pattern I didn’t like the combination of colors. So the rating is more of a personal color preference than the quality of the material

I have never done mosaic patterns and now I am hooked. This was a first time idea kit purchase as well as first time using Mary Maxim yarns and it have enjoyed it very much!

One-way crocheting creates this beautiful, finished product. Must follow directions for each row. Over stitching with double crocheted stitches creates the design. Would do this pattern again. Could be created by a beginner, but I rate this as intermediate. Have fun with this one.

My husband got me this kit for Christmas, and I can't wait to get started on it. The yarn is very soft and luxurious and the instructions are easy to follow. Very excited!

Not happy with the quality of the Best Value yarn. Splits easily and is lighter weight than most No. 4 yarn.
