Not truthful about product

Here's why I am so angry with you folks. I bought this to be made as a kit for my handicapped granddaughter. Of course it should be easy care. Your catalogue and your website advertise the yarn as "machine wash/dry". This is a lie as shown by my picture of the ball band. One yarn is machine washable but the other is not. Why would you mix yarns that are not the same in washability or even weight??????????????????

Please refund my money asap.

Just couldn't make it work

This is the first time I have not been satisfied with something I purchased from Mary maxim. I wanted to make an afghan for a house warming gift and this is the one that was chosen. I am a good knitter and familiar with both fairisle and intarsia styles but using them both in the same project just didn't work. I couldn't get the tension balanced between the two techniques and did the border at least 3 times before I gave up and reluctantly gave it. The yarn was OK but the pattern was a real bummer.

Hi Bev, thank you for your feedback on the Neutral Zone Afghan. We have an excellent project assistance team that would love to assist you. Please contact customer service at 8884422266 to set up project assistance.

Neutral Zone Afghan

I basically like this. I wouldn’t have purchased if I didn’t like pattern. I don’t like the directions for first section. Also the yarn is not the same type. Not complete yet.

the yarn had to be hand-washed. Handwashing is not practical. The pattern and yarn were great

Will buy again

I am pleased with this kit. After doing each graph once it went very quickly. I washed it on delicate in the washing machine, medium spin and then ten minutes in the dryer on low, laid it flat to dry with no issues. I did a knitted border as I don’t crochet
Very happy with how it turned out. It is a good intermediate project with just enough challenge

Where's my refund for a fraudulent kit????????????

I returned the yarn because the ad was fraudulent. Advertised this kit as machine washable and dryer friendly when the yarn obviously was not. Promised that they would refund. Have proof that the kit was returned but no refund on my credit card. Will do a chargeback next week.

Do not buy unless you want to be frustrated

And another thing - the two yarns used aren't even compatible. When you use yarns like this, they should be within 20 yds at maximum. The Best Value is made in India (poor quality for sure) and has 342 yds. The Natural Alpaca has 262 yds. The Best Value is closer to a dk weight and should NEVER have been used with the alpaca at all.

MISLEADING KIT! REFUND ME ASAP!

You are misleading with your kit the Neutral Zone Afghan. You claim that the kit is machine washable and dryable on the Canadian site. This is not true. The alpaca yarn is hand washable only and to be laid flat to dry according to the ball band. Also. you do NOT state that the second yarn is 100% acrylic!!!!!!!!!!! One is led to believe that both yarns are the same when in fact they are totally not. This kit has been sold under false pretenses and everyone who bought it should be refunded because of that issue.
When you substitute one yarn for another there should be at maximum 20 yds different from them. The Best Value has 342 yards per 170 yds and is more of a dk weight while the Natural Alpaca is 262 yds per 100 grams. If we convert the Best Value yarn into 100 grams its yardage is 201 yds – a massive difference of 61 yds. They are not compatible yarns at all.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK

Poorly written

I am beginning to hate the Mary Maxim idea of kits. Cobble together any pattern and match it with any yarn that "might " work. This one has it all - mismatched yarns. An alpaca blend with a polyester contrast. One can be washed and dried and one can not. Not a good choice at all.

Then we have the "instructions". No telling us to use pins to separate sections of pattern, no explaining how to make the "bobbins", no explaining how to avoid massive tangling of the yarns.

I believe that this will be my last Mary Maxim afghan. Better to pay the money, buy a "real" pattern with better yarn. You'll feel better and be less frustrated.

I am not up with

I am not up with modern technology but love this pattern would like it better if pattern was completely written out it is easier for my understanding of patterns (old school) lol Once I did up the graphs on larger graphs so I could see it better it went pretty quick. Happy that I purchased this Kit.

I chose this pattern and yarn as I liked the design and the choices of yarn. A great Christmas gift. The Alpaca yarn will make into a soft comfortable blanket.

Found this to be more

Found this to be more expert than intermediate. In the catalog says yarn is washable but when arrived on label says hand wash, lay flat to dry, not easy for Afghan. Wish graph c was larger like others. Also no mention of needing bobbins.

Awesome Design

I’m loving making this Afghan. The pattern graphs are easy to follow. The website for assistance with the border does not work. Had to use a utube tutorial instead. All worked out well.
