I bought this knit afghan pattern, because I lied the crochet one that is similar in a way.

Cute pattern.
Tan with gold yarn is a deal breaker. The gold thread in the tan. Reals, bunches and looks quite bad. Was goi g to give as a gift but won’t now

I have not done this color way in the kit; I used the directions to make the same in navy, burgundy, dark green and taupe. It turned out beautifully: looking toward to actually making this kit!

Works into a beautiful blanket. I plan to try with different color combinations. HOWEVER!!! The gold metallic thread breaks and leaves a messy appearance. They need to be brought to the back of blanket after completion. Otherwise I would have given five stars.

For a blanket, it feels good, With metallic thread throughout, it is soft.

Love the Colors

I’d have to agree with many of the others that have commented regarding NOT having a drop down to select your own colors. I love the pattern, but NOT EVERYONE celebrates this Holiday these colors are geared for. For a pretty big company to add a simple drop down per color isn’t brain surgery!!!
Oh and yeah you can’t just buy the pattern plus all the yarn associated w/it. I asked & received a nasty reply back.

I ordered this kit to make as a gift. I paid for yarn that was supposed to be Starlette Sparkle yarn, but what I received was 2 of the 4 colors in the Sparkle yarn, 1 color in Glimmer yarn (which is less yardage), and 1 color in plain Starlette yarn no sparkle in it (also less yardage). This is so disappointing and annoying to pay for a specific kit, and to receive substitutions in that kit without notification. This is not good customer service. Nowhere on the website could I find that Mary Maxim substitutes yarn in kits. How stupid is this finished afghan going to look with 1 yarn that has no sparkle?? Also, I'm assuming I'll run out of yarn due to the less yardage in the substitute yarns. What a waste of money this kit is! I contacted Mary Maxim but have not yet heard back.

so pretty & fun to make. my only complaint is the glitter threads that are wrapped around the yard have ALOT of breakage!

Since I have not started the project yet, I can only say the kit was packaged well and the directions seems to be easy to read. It is so pretty I can't wait to get started.

Am enjoying knitting this while reading my stack of novels. It will make a lovely extra for Xmas.

Just started this Holiday Plaid Blanket. The instructions are clear and easy to understand.
The only thing I have noticed is the gold thread running through the white seems to break and unravel. I have not noticed that to be as much an issue with the other colors.
I am enjoying making this project however!:christmas_tree:

I’m afraid I haven’t started this afghan yet, but I’ve looked over the yarn and it’s beautiful. Far more metallic thread than I thought there would be…which I love. I’m looking forward to getting it finished and showing it off at Christmas time.
