Love these patterns..absolutely adorable

So this is one cute bear. Everyone who sees him wants him. But the pattern and instructions have some flaws. Like others, I ran out of yarn for the pants, but MM was super responsive and sent more.

But to the pattern…the crochet instructions were fine and the issue with the size of the bear pictured and the size I was making wasn’t a problem for me. But where the pattern fell down was on stuffing of the parts and assembly of the bear. There needs to be some sort of gauge and size reckoning. The way I stuffed my bear, his body was pleasingly plump, but clearly longer and thinner than was intended, hence the shortage of yarn on his pants and that was after taking them apart once and remaking them slightly smaller, 5 or 6 stitches around. I had to add some length to his shirt as well, but there was enough yarn. His head also gave me similar problems and I ended up partly remaking the hat so it flared a bit less to fit.

Also, both head and body are somewhat asymmetrical and neither the pattern, nor the pictures were of much help getting it right.

There was not enough yarn provided in the kit to make the bear according to the instructions. Even if I had used a smaller hook there still would not have been enough brown yarn. There was also not enough dark green yarn to make the pants. So disappointed in this kit that I am not sure I will purchase anymore kits. I would prefer to just purchase a pattern and buy the yarn separately.

This little bear is very sweet, I was disappointed in the pattern. The example pictures do not correspond with the size of the bear.

Nice teddy bear, very cute but there was not enough red yarn to complete the hat and trim clothing. Very disappointed with the pattern. The pictures does'nt always match the intructions. The kit contains safety eyes but the directions in the pattern tell you to glue them in place after stuffing the head, that's stange. After all I will not recommend to buy this kit. Sorry.

I was disappointed with the pattern. Poorly written with detail where not needed and none where needed. I had to rewrite part of pattern. also supply of some of the yarns was skimpy or lacking

I would give this 5 stars for design. The bear is one of the cutest ever. the crochet directions for making the bear are easy to follow. However when it comes to assembling the bear the instructions become difficult . The pictures do not always match the instructions. The eye placement was the worst. The kit contains safety eyes but the directions tell you to glue the eyes in place after stuffing the head and and doing the sculpting stitches. The pictures show pins here and there as markers for stitches but the instructions don't give a clue. It can be very challenging and frustrating. I would not recommend this kit for anyone who is not very experienced with crochet and especially making dolls or animals.
I didn't have any problem with yarn shortage for making the clothes except for one color missing entirely. Fortunately I found something in my stash that worked perfectly.

Alpine bear is so cute

Love this holiday bear. He has so much personality. Having a complete kit helps with all materials. Instructions were very easy to follow along. I did over stuff my bear so his shirt doesn't quite fit but he's very full and happy!

I haven’t had a chance to crochet the bear but the kit includes all the yarn and other materials to complete the bear. The pattern instructions are very detailed. I am not anticipating any problems crocheting the bear. I have purchased at least 5 Christmas kits and have been pleased with all of them.

I love his teddy bear but there was not enough red yarn to complete the hat and trim the clothing. They did not even give you one skein of red yarn but only 3, 35" hanks That's pretty cheezy. I haven't finished the bear's body yet. I hope this isn't the case with the beige yarn.

I haven’t made it yet but the instructions look very well written as all MM patterns.

The bear was just okay but even some of those directions weren’t clear. They tell you to place the ears and tail basically where you want them but if you don’t look ahead to the clothing then they don’t match up right. The yarn for the out is packaged in 35 yard bundles which means you have to connect them up to complete the outfit. Then there wasn’t enough green yarn to complete the pants. Not sure what happened but my bear ended up 13.1/2 inches tall not 11 1/2. I was disappointed in the kit even though I did finish it. I will never buy another one by that company again.

Looks so cute, but the yarn is a problem. The yarn for the bear is very thick so he came out very big. The red yard is thin so when I tried making the hat, it was way too small. I improvised in my own yarn and made an outfit for the bear. I also do not use magic circle or ring. Just sc in second chain from hook and you can topighren the circle when weaving the end in. I also did not like the color green in the kit so I used my own. Very disappointed! The other kids I bought came out fine, except one had the same ugly green which I substituted. If you bought this kit, I suggest buying a 4 ply red for the hat! Also the green, which is the same type as the red.

It is cute, easy and I plan to make two.

I am making these for my 3 grandchildren and can't wait to see how much they love these. All 3 will get the same so there is no fussing. I love this kit.
