My mother knit Mrs Claus about 25 years ago and the pattern was only partially legible, due to the age of it,so I ordered a new pattern. She now has dementia so is unable to knit anymore. We have added to our family so I knit the Santa stockings for my sons-in-law.
Forty seven years ago my Mother made the three of us the Santa stocking and since for her grandchildren. My daughter bought me the pattern recently as her stocking was taken by her ex and would like to have her children and herself have one. It's been years since I knitted. It would have helped to have added instructions on carrying yarn behind the motif. I guess most reactions would be "Google it".
I purchased this pattern as well as the snowman and candy cane patterns. They are easy to follow and allowed me to match stockings that were made following the same pattern from 25+ years ago! A suggestion for Mary Maxim: bring back your bright red yarn. The cardinal red is beautiful but doesn't match vintage stockings made with the bright red yarn. :grinning:
59 years ago I made the Santa stocking for my new baby. No longer hanging stockings in my house, last year I gave it to him, and his wife asked for a companion stocking. I ordered the pattern from MM and made Mrs. Claus.
Great pattern for Christmas stockings. Easy to follow and good design.
Already made Rudolph and snowman . Looking forward to doing Mrs Santa.
Thank you!
The stocking on the left my mother made 40+ years ago for her son-in-law and the one on the right for her granddaughter 30+ years ago.
The stocking in the middle I got to make for my son-in-law this year.
Thank you!
Affordable, straightforward, classic pattern
Love it!
Instant download! I was able to use the patterns that day. They are perfect. My old ones are beat-up, and had a couple of spots which were difficult to read. These are definitely the authentic patterns for Mr and Mrs Claus. Thank you so much!
Love it!! Just got started on Santa. I’ve been making this pattern for 51 years, but didn’t have Mrs. Santa til now! Very excited to begin working on her!
Thank you!
I haven't made this yet, but look forward to making it soon.
Cute pattern. Easy to follow.
Cute pattern. Easy to follow.
Was very pleased with my pattern.
Arrived quickly.
I wrote it on the previous page
Very easy pattern to follow
Very good product.
I bought this pattern because my original pattern is worn out and missing parts. I have been making stocking for 5 generations in my family and also making stockings for friends. I have no idea how many I have made over the years. I started this in 1976 and made stockings for all the new babies and spouses in my family. Even though I make the new patterns I still use my original patterns for the number of stitches cast on and fir the body, foot and tie. I need them the same size as my original stockings. I love all the patterns and watch for the 99 cent sales.
Found pattern easy to follow. Loved the stockings.
Love these stocking patterns. These were for a gift for my daughter and son in law.
Looks great. Haven't tried it yet
saving for the time our family grows and I need a new design!

I am a novice knitter, but this pattern was very clear and easy to follow! My knitting needs some practice, but the pattern itself was great!

My subs and I were given a set of these back in the 60’s. My aunt made them. We really valued them and they have become a family tradition. I’m hoping to carry it on.
This is a clearly written pattern with a big chart showing how to knit those sweet faces. I purchased the pattern after a friend asked me to knit one for her grandchild. My friend’s grandmother had knit this exact pattern for everyone in the family, and she wanted this new baby to join the tradition. I’m so thankful Mary Maxim still offered the pattern!
I am so happy to have found these patterns. I love the Mary Maxim designs and have made many, many stockings from them. I have been looking for Mrs. Santa for a long time. Thanks for making so many vintage patterns available.
