Love this yarn! So soft. Very easy to work with.
I am a complete newbie. Never knew how to knit but I practiced and learnt all the required techniques before I worked with my actual yarn. The multi coloured intarsia is quite hard for beginners so I would recommend using only 2 colours for intarsia and duplicate stitch the remaining colours and details. Completed the prohject in 1.5 months and while it definitely doesn't look as good as an experienced knitter since I've made a lot of mistakes on the intarsia parts, I am very proud of my cardigan :> Amaze amaze amaze!
I love this yarn! I make baby blankets to donate to local places. The yarn is soft, doesn't split, and has a great colo selection. AND its machine wash and dry!

I was very happy with my yarn! I ordered 12 , I got 9 of 1 color and 3 of another color. Plenty of each to make lots of items. I received the cones which I was really happy about . I got a nice mixture of the small skeins that came with each one. This should last me a long time but I would definitely order again. What a great value!

The Vintage Wallpaper Throw is an easy and fun project! I loved crocheting this throw and took it everywhere. People would come up to me and ask me about it and want to touch the yarn which is very soft. Of course I had to excitedly tell them all about Bag O Day and her easy tutorials! She does have a tutorial of this throw which I used a couple times for the border. I have never put a border on a blanket before. I love how quick and easy the half double crochet stitch is, it’s also my favorite stitch so far. This kit or the finished project would make a great gift! I will buy this again in other colors.

The pattern literally says you will need 7skeins but the kit (kit=insinuating it is a complete package of everything one would need) only comes with 5 skeins. I know this as this is the fourth one I am making, because it's so pretty, but it would be really nice if I didn't have to add $12+ to every order. Simply put seven skeins in the package and price it accordingly!
I unfortunately did not read the reviews, I am waiting for two more skeins of yarn each(I am working on two simultaneously). It is gorgeous and fairly easy to follow. I'm not sure I did the "dc2tog, ch 3, smcl" correctly though, but it still looks nice. I am very surprised that with all the feedback, Mary Maxim had NOT started packaging this with the necessary skeins to complete it.
I bought this to stay warm and turn heads when I go to formal (read all black attire) events. Add the fun of making it myself and this wrap delivers.
I am having a hard time understanding row 2 in the pattern. I have completed several projects before. I don't know if I am supposed to alternate the different dc2Tog and the dc3Tog. Should I always skip the two stiches. I am lost

Just finished his shawl and it is lovely. The wool is nice and soft and the sparkle adds extra. Luckily I had ordered two more skeins as I had the read the reviews beforehand. It was well worth the effort and time spent. I did phone Mary Maxim to doublecheck that I was doing a backwards stitch correctly and spoke with a lady who was very helpful and friendly. Thank you.

The yarn is soft, unlike some other yarn with metallic thread. The pattern works up fast and easy. I've made two other wraps with this pattern in plain yarn, they look fine but the sparkle yarn is outstanding.

Not enough yarn. Very disappointed to have to place an order for extra skeins and have to pay transport. It needs at least 3 more skeins. I have the feeling that the person who figured that 5 skeins were enough has never crocheted before!

We have found that most of our kits have been short by 1 skein, but not 3. 8 skeins for this pattern would be far too much based on the length and measurements.
Are you making sure to watch your tension and gauge?

I have used the suggested hook size, my work is exactly 72" however I am short more than 1 ball. I have undone the work and will try again maybe with a bigger hook.

This works up nicely. It took me a while to figure out the pattern. There is not enough yarn included in the kit and I ordered two extra skeins as per other reviewers. I made a white one and one in silver. I prefer the silver one.
As others say, this kit is short on yarn. I had to order 2 additional skeins. Love the beautiful pattern, but I used a size 6 hook, and did not get the 73" length. Going to add an additional 22 chains in the beginning to get an additional 7" length, so maybe a total of 3 additional skeins will be needed. Not using sparkle yarn for additional wraps. Really love the pattern!
Turned out beautifully but like previous reviewer I needed two more skeins to complete. Frustrating to say the least especially since my gauge was correct. Not the first time I have had to get extra yarn for a Mary Maxim kit. Would rather pay more than run out of yarn.
